Brook has never really snored. Lately when she falls asleep in her car chair she snores and gags and wakes up only to fall right back asleep mostly. It sounds to me as if either her tounge is blocking her airway or she is refluxing and gaging It used to be only in the car when she was sitting up. Two nights ago it started when she was in her bed laying on her pillow. Who would I need to see for this? Thx girls Update below

I'm not sure who to see, but it kinda sounds like a ENT visit. Poor baby, she must not be sleeping well. Let us know how the visits go... HUGS to you both!!!

Paige did the same thing until she had her tonsils/adenoids out. Now she only does it when she is getting sick, has alot of phlegm, mucous in her throat. My guess is that Brook has alot of post nasal drip that she is gagging on, especially if it's only when she's alseep. Hope she feels better. I know it's a scarey sound!

THE VERDICT: Back from doc today: DOUBLE ear infection AND sinus infection She seemed just fine in spirits. Just a little bit whinner, but nothing out of the ordinary I just can't believe it. They put her on Amox 10 ml 2 x's a day for 10 days. Seems like a whole lot of antibotics. 2 big jugs of the pink stuff. See her again in 2 weeks.

Awww Jenn give that cutiepie a hug from me. Hey you know those pillows that have arm rests that you can use in bed to sit up? Olivia loves heres and when she is sick with sinus junk which she hasn't been in sooo long (YAY), that pillow is a lifesaver. She stops choking gagging etc. Brooks doing that from all the gunk running down her throat. Also breathe right strips are the bestest. They make tiny ones for kids now too. BTW I know you will think I am gross but I usta LOVE the pink stuff....(((HUGS))) Steff

Poor thing . . . ear infections and a sinus infection sounds really YUCKY! Just an FYI - Logan gets a lot of sinus infections, and they are rarely cleared up with 10 days of antibiotics. Our pediatrician says it's difficult to clear up sinus infections. If it seems to reappear just a few days after stopping the antibiotics, don't hesitate to contact the pediatrician for another dose.
Good luck! I sure hope she's feeling better soon!!

Your right Kim. It did not go away, it got worse. Back to the doc. Heavy duty antib's now. Seems to be getting better. I'm worried to send her to school again. We only go once a month for now but every time she catches something There sending her to the ENT now to look in her ears w/ their fancy ear looker inner thing to check for fluid. Thanks again for the well wishes everyone.

Well, she STILL sounds horrible esp in the morning. Sinus disease the doc's say it is. She is in good spirits though. Home bound for a while longer. Thx for thinking of the Brookster
