Hello all,
I pop in and I pop out. However, I usually read UNOmas on a daily basis. I would love to reply and interject more. Kind of hard being working full time and being a single mom. But I just LOVE reading what everyone has to say.
Dani just turned 6 a few weeks back. Where does that time go?
She seems to be enjoying kindgergarten. The biggest challange is her behavior. She gets a lot of time outs for non compliance or agression toward a peer or staff. My ex and I called a new meeting last week and I felt we are all on the same page. I just don't know how to help Dani be a better friend and student. She is quite verbal but is quite naughty in her behavior. This is preventing her from being included more into her kindergarten. I am going to take a class so I can talk to her "typically" developing peers during National Inclusion week.
With that being said. Any ideas on what other's have taught children regarding DS? The whole staff would like to see Dani remain with her peers as she progresses through the school system, so I imagine I will be talking every year to her class.
Dani is an only child (Hi Jelani's mom)..You know what I mean. Anyway, she has not had the priviledge to have siblings. Well-she does have a 19 and 23 year old brother and sister who are in college, she rarely sees. But she never grew up with them. Basically, she has always gotten my full attention so am wondering if part of the acting up is that. I have taken her out for socialization since day 1 and put her in daycare when she was 2 so she could be around other kids. She used to be so sweet and demure but can be quite bossy now. I guess this is more of a vent.
Here is a picture of my little lovebug too.
Best to all,
Kim
