My neice is having her baby shower shortly....we are left locally with mostly Toys r Us and Dillards to select from...does anyone have any online resources for unique baby gifts...she doesnt know the sex so cant go there.....and I want a very nice gift for her. Any ideas? Her nursery is yellow and has a painted bees and behive mural....and her bed is iron and furniture is off white. I would like something really for the BABY ...not just the room. Any neat toys...etc?
Thanks...Jackie

Babystyle.com has some very cute things...some more boutique-y than regular stores. And they're having a SALE right now....25% off (all?) use coupon code BABY25 at check-out. Also, Burt's Bees makes lotions, creams, etc...adorable packaging, that would match baby's room theme -- they make baby stuff too. Babystyle MIGHT carry some, otherwise Drugstore.com definitely does. Hearthsong.com carries adorable toys....nicer than what you find in typical stores - wooden etc, and nice lullaby CDs (Putamayo kids, one of my favorites) www.redenvelope.com makes some cuter baby stuff too. One of my favorite gifts I was given when MM was born was a sterling silver rattle from Tiffany's. I dont know how much MM liked it...but I love it. Something I will keep forever - to remind me not only of MM's babyhood but of the dear friend I got it from. One of my favorite gifts to give is rocking horses...the first one I gave was from FAO Schwartz. Now I buy them at a local shop...wooden, hand-painted - all different themes. I'm sure you can find a place on-line if you like the idea. Here are a few places I found quick woodrockers.com/www.shawcreekrockinghorses.com/both places above have beautiful horses.... anyways - those are some ideas - laurie

Good sites....loved the rocking horses. All I have so far is a book I found on mega sale...called....Baby Tatoos. That ought to shake up the party a bit...LOL.

Jackie, When Merideth & Sam were babies I discovered Target has alot of nice baby items & a gift registry ....somwhere this summer I saw a stuffed behive toy. It was possibly a Mary Meyer brand. May have seen it in a card store since my mom works for the big H brand There's also a high end baby store online called poshtots.com Potterybarnkids is good too. A bit off the mainstream. There's always the Vintage Pooh line too. I know they have honeypot stuff.
