I am sitting here watching the clock...LOL....Emily will leave Dallas around noon with David and the little guys....should be in by dinner and I have a big pot of good ole Texas Chili in the crock pot...and cornbread just waiting to be baked. It hasnt started raining yet...so thats good news...still time to maybe try and shovel some of the wet leaves out of the courtyard.
David said he is sooooooo impressed by Emily's increasing maturity. He said he mentioned coming 'home'...and she quickly corrected him...that she would be just visiting....cuz her 'home ' was in Houston.
She then also got into a discussion with him about how they ALL now have jobs...and how neat it is to be making her own money ...and she said...her own decisions!!!!!!
Now if I can just lay off her case for this visit...things will be great.....but she is ...still my baby.....Bet this week flies.

Mmmmmm, chili and cornbread. Sounds good. Maybe we could all jump on a plane and be there by dinner time. Got enough for 6 more? Don't think we'd try Robert, 15 mos., on chili just yet. Could be disasterous. But Charlie would love it, likes spicy. Have a great week. Regards, Bob

Sounds like Miss Emily is really growing up! That's awesome that she's making her own decisions and seems to love her job, etc. What a great daughter you have there! I bet you are soooo proud of her! Have a fabulous visit with her! Staci

Well...the Eagle has landed....Em got here around dinner time....we had a wonderful very late dinner of the chili (which I seldom make and actually was very very tasty). My sister and her husband came over and were very complimentary about Emily and her new emerging shape!
I told you David was bringing his two little guys Sam 3 and Max 2 without their mom for a few days....well....LOL....I see now why women quit having children when they do...LOL. PERPETUAL Motion has taken on a whole new meaning for me....and the rain and cold at the moment ...arent helping. This morning I was sprinkling Max with my bottle of 'fairy dust' and he opened his mouth up really wide.....so...about the time his Mom arrives and takes him to the potty...she should be in for a sparking....surprise...LOL.
But its sooo good to have my Em back for a bit...we are off shortly to shop for clothes that fit her. Jackie

Awwwww JACKIE, nothing better to help a young adult become responsible then making their own decisions and making their own money. WTG EMILY ;D HOPE you don't mind me asking, But you said " her 'home ' was in Houston." Just wondering here, most people have a job at a work place separate from their home, so what if Emily decides not to work there anymore, or the job is no longer needed, would she then stay in Houston and just take on another job?? I don't mean to project or even suggest that the job may no longer be needed BUT it has to be harder for one that lives at their job. You know lots change jobs over the years but not their home with it, Hmmmm just wondering, cause thats what I do I know I have lots of time before I have to face all this but never to early to think how things can be done with the least worry, if there is such a thing as "least worry" ENJOY your visit. I am sure it will go way toooooooo fast... CC ~

Christie....
Emily met with her local case manager today. At the present time here they are treating Emilys move to Houston as temporary for a variety of reasons....the main one being allowing her to remain on our HCS list which will give her control over the monies funded to her if her number EVER comes up. The list is much shorter here than in the Houston area.
Emily knows the job could end at any time...and since she is sort of like a 'house nanny'....the living arrangements are tied to the job.
As I have posted before...this job has been extended thru May of next year. I guess at that time they will discuss what comes next...and it might just be moving back home.
However, Emily doesnt want to live here if she can live somewhere else. She has liked having her freedom and independence. Her sister, Katie, has offered to help her move to Austin if the time comes for her to move on. There certainly would be more possibilities for her there than here.
I guess I could sit and fret and worry about tomorrow...but...it wont do any good.......there are no guarantees for any of us in life....even without disabilities. I DO have my moments when I wonder how long this can last....it's such a marvelous situation and I feel so fortunate it has come our way...sometimes it all seems too good to be true. If it does come to an end then we just have to figure out whats next and thank our lucky stars she has had this opportunity to grow and mature.
BTW....she looks terrific...and we just got two new pairs of siz 18 jeans......remember in June she went off wearing 24s. ;D I dont know if this answers your questions or not.....hope so.....
Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving.

Jackie,
Glad you are all together. Did you get the terrible storms they were talking about on the news?
