Hey everyone! I've missed you guys! I've been out of town working for the last several months, and had no time for my favorite bulletin board. I was only home for weekends, so I spent every spare moment with my husband and kids!
Ethan's 7th birthday was on Friday, and he had a wonderful birthday. We had a whopper of a snowstorm here on Friday, and the kids didn't have school. I had taken his birthday treats to school on Thursday because I didn't want his birthday to be lost in the Christmas festivities at school - good thing I did because of the snowday!
We had a birthday party with all of his family today. It was an incredibly cold day, blizzard like winds, but the whole family was here, even his grandparents, who are 87 and 94! They never miss any of his activities, we are so fortunate to have them. His grandma, who spoils him rotten, got him a Nintendo DS for his birthday, and the new Super Mario World game. He hasn't put the game down since he got it, and he's so good at it!!!
He was talking on the phone with his aunt and uncle on Friday, who always call on his birthday and sing to him, and I was struck by what a normal conversation it was! They were asking him questions, he was answering, he was sharing things about his school party, and I found myself suddenly in tears. I remember those days after he was born when we met with the geneticist who made such awful predictions about the quality of his life, and what we could expect from him. I sure wish that guy could see him now!
Anyway, I was so busy enjoying his fun in opening his gifts that I didn't take a single picture. I'll have to take a picture of him playing with his DS and post it. That's if I can get him to look up from it long enough to smile.............LOL!!!!
Happy birthday to my darling boy!!!
