Soooo, Williams Hair is getting L O N G and very tatty looking, it really needs cutting but I don't know what to do with it. Not too short I think but so he doesn't look like a girl LOL Also he has a real thing about having his hair touched, absolutely hates having it brushed and I have struggled to even cut the fringe before. HELP Anyone got any ideas for styles or tips to make a visit to the hairdressers go well ? Lorraine

He sure is a sweetheart! Sorry, but the HAIRCUT thing is a big deal for us too! Eric goes balistic! HATES HATES HATES his head touched! We usually let his hair grow till we can't stand it anymore then we take him to our local barber (a friend of mine...at least I think he still is LOL) and basically hold him down so he can do some kind of cut. Not something I look forward to. Good Luck! And I'm sure William will look handsome whichever way he wears his hair!

How about the bowl cut (like Denise the Menace). That is always a good cut for a boy.

Joshie really looks better with a bowl-style cut, because I think the longer hair balances his strong features. It only looks good when it's freshly cut and combed, though, and he messes it up almost as soon as I comb it. Consequently, he was going around looking ratty all the time. I think appearing well-groomed is especially important for our kids, so I decided to give him a shorter, all-over cut that doesn't even really require combing. It isn't as flattering, but it is much neater.
Fortunately, he likes ANY kind of attention, including hair combing or cutting or tooth brushing (so far).
Your little guy is adorable. I don't think he looks like a girl, even with the longer hair. He's a cutie!

How cute, Lorraine! Must say that his hair looks just like my 13 yr old grandson who does not have DS so perhaps just a tiny trim and he will still be in style...LOL

Hello, He is just so dang precious with those locks. I have a daughter so can let her hair grow out, but I just recently bobbed her hair as it was a constant struggle to brush. Regardless what you do--I want to see a picture. Kim and Dani

What a little cutie! Just wanted to say Nicholas also hates getting his hair cut. It is quite an ordeal and I just dread it! So...what I do is get it cut as short as possible so we can go a long time before going through it again! No hairstyle tips, that's just how I handle it!

I think William would look cute keeping it long -less trips to the barber. Have you found a style you want? Jelani has alopecia so I shave his head myself every 3-4 days. But about 3 years ago it was long to his shoulders, with big ringlets! Everyone loved his hair, so did I, but it was a hassel combing it every night and using a detangler. I'd trade in the razor for the comb any day! I guess the Bruce Willis look will have to do for now.

Thanks for all your input I really don't know what to do now, I think I might just try myself to tidy it up. Till he gets older and I can just make him sit still LOL And Dawn~ I feel so guilty for complaining now with what you are going through with Jelani. sorry Lorraine

Yes, come one, be gutzy and clip it!!! That is what we did with Russell's hair for years... all his hair, clipped it with a #2. Now we use a 4 all around but the top... then I cut that and the over the ear part. We've also done a mohawk a few times A.
