I talked to my brother today. He was supposed to have the scans today but his insurance company STILL HAS NOT approved them. He has Secure Horizons which I guess takes the place of Medicare. I feel so very badly for him, for his wife, for his children, and for all of us who love him.
He needs to know so that he can either have hope or prepare himself. Noone should have this kind of power over another human being's life. My brother has served his country, his state, his city and his fellow citizens all of his life.
He has adopted a small community in central AZ that has a very poor economy. Every Christmas he loads his 3/4 T truck bed with toys for the children and his son loads his 3/4 T truck bed with food and they take this to the people of that town. The other day when I called, he was out running an errand for a young neighbor.
One would think that at the very least he could get the *@#^& tests that he needs so we know what we are facing.
Sorry for the rant. I'm just feeing very angry.
Char

Of course you're angry, Char! How frustrating! I work with insurance companies every day and they can sure infuriate me! I'll keep him in my prayers.....and the insurance company too.

Char, I am so sorry. You have every right to be angry. I just hope they will accept it so he can have his scan. We all love you and will keep your brother in all of our prayers.

Everyone here is so sweet. I understand that the test got scheduled late this week and he didn't feel physically like he could go....of course, he never called me to ask me if I'd drive him. He is now rescheduled for Monday.
My poor sister-in-law is in a wheel chair and has been for 60 years of her 75 year life. She had polio and now has post polio syndrome so she is as weak as a kitten. They are simply just going to have to allow us...his kids and me...to come over and help. I'm hoping we know something by a week from Monday.
I am not one who waits well, and I have always been under the impression that when treating cancer, time was of the essence.
Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. You will never know how much I value your wonderful support.
