1. I have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering 2. I'm a stay-at-home mom, not gainfully employed 3. I'm fully domestic - I cook, bake, sew, knit, - well, maybe not fully since cleaning is only done grudgingly - and laundry - I hate laundry 4. I hate bookkeeping and accounting of any stripe 5. I enjoy doing science experiments with my kids 6. I teach my own kids at home 7. I like dogs so long as they are not on my property 8. My husband is extremely hot and I adore him 9. I have 2 daughters and 2 sons in dance classes 10. I trade web site design and maintenance for dance tuition 11. I have one daughter in a children's choir that is traveling in Europe this July (Choir Festival in Salsberg is the highlight) with my mother 12. I love dandelions 13. I'm a very good portrait artist 14. I've never broken a bone 15. I have a huge container full of pictures that need a scrapbook or album 16. I love chocolate 17. I lift weights on Fridays 18. I think that the best work I will ever do is in raising my children to be responsible adults 19. Jesus Christ is the best person to ever walk into my life - I am who I am because of Him 20. My favorite author is Elisabeth Elliot 21. I just found out recently that my daughter who I named after my favorite author has her name spelled differently from that author's 22. I once had to kill a tiny chick that was suffering - it was among the hardest things I've ever done. 23. I believe that complaining and venting are the enemies of contentment and happiness 24. I believe that happiness ought never to be a goal, but that happiness is the natural result of a life lived well. 25. I think that good communication skills are the most important skills anyone can have and we ought to strive to improve those skills as long as we live.

Ah well, 5 other kids can't do without Mommy for 11 days *sigh* - not to mention that, even though it's very reasonably priced, we can't afford it for more than just Katie. I'm just glad that she can get away for this trip - she has Dad and his mother to take care of, but at least Dad can cook, plus we'll have him over a few times while she's away

What wonderful things I'm learning about all of you.
1. I adore my kids and grandkids. My children are the most emotionally supporting family one could ever hope to have.
2. I was a cheer leader in 8th grade and in high school. I was a song leader in college.
3. I was Arizona's 1st rodeo queen contestant at the national high school rodeo finals.
4. Having said the above, I quit smoking and have gained 60 pounds. I could not cheer, lead songs or ride a horse right now for love nor money!
5. I did smoke pot over 30 years ago. All it did was make me laugh til my jaws hurt and eat anything I could find. In my book it's highly overrated.
6. I have not had a drop of alcohol in 29 years and thank God for that every day of my life.
7. I do not have tattoos. I don't want any either because I don't like pain.
8. I took countless years of piano lessons, hating every minute of them. I can still read music and wish I had a piano. Just like any kid I did not appreciate what my parents were doing for me.
9. I have learned more from Abbigail than any other person in my life. I can't wait until she calls me Grandma.
10. I so look forward to the day I can retire. I don't like my job or working at all.
11. I have been to Seoul, Pusan, and Wejamboo(spelled phonetically) South Korea. I attended a traditional Korean wedding. Wejamboo is where MASH 4077th took place.
12. I had lunch with Harry Morgan.
13. One of my sons is a combat vet. His little brother was on alert the entire time his brother was in combat and I was terrified both would end up there.
14. I love to play bridge.
15. I have lived in Arizona, Michigan, Alaska, California, Utah, Colorado and Tennessee. My brother was born in Louisiana but when he moved to AZ at age four, he never left again. I guess I'm the adventerous one in the family.
16. I'm a huge University of AZ basketball fan and will scream and yell whether I'm at McKale Center or in my living room.
17. I love animals. I have a dog whose name is Fritz. He is a dachshund/Chihuahua mix and is a wonderful little guy.
18. I've had as pets a one legged pidgeon, a woodpecker, a javalina, and a domestic rabbit.
19. Kathy has been my friend since we started first grade. We were both five then. We are now 64.
20. I just had dinner with 12 people who were in grade school with me. The entire class probably only had 18 people in it.
21. I work in accounting. My most desired job would be working in a zoo. I would love to feed the animals or work in the nursery so I could take care of baby animals.
22. My grandchildren range between ages 29 and 2 1/2. Those two belong to my daughter, and she had no children in between those two.
23. I refused to get a pager and only got a cell phone about four years ago. I hate electronic leashes.
24. I have been divorced since 1982.
25. I love to travel and hope some day to spend a lot of time visiting my children and grandchildren.

Let's see if I can think of 25 things......... 1. I have been married 18 1/2 years............9 1/2 to my first husband and 9 to my current (and forever) husband. 2. I am blessed to have found the love of my life when I was just shy of 41. I love my dh! 3. I had to have surgery and fertility drugs to get pregnant with my older daughter and was shocked to find out I was pregnant with Sarah when I was almost 43. I call her our surprise blessing. 4. We almost lost Sarah before she could have heart surgery. 5. I went straight to graduate school after I got my bachelor's degree. I did all everything for a master's in a year and a half except write a paper. I never did write that paper. 6. I did go back to school and do another master's program and finished. 7. I love Texas red grapefruit. It's the best! I eat one every day when it's in season. 8. I am a big procrastinator. I get things done on time but just barely. 9. I wish I would have had more children but my first marriage was horrible. I would have had another after Sarah but my dh didn't want to go through another pregnancy. 10. I had morning sickness all nine months with both my pregnancies. 11. I wanted to be a full-time musician when I was younger. I play oboe and English horn and freelanced until I was 27. 12. I started teaching elementary music when I was 27 because I decided I needed a "real" job. 13. I can't wait for the day I can retire from teaching. It is very stressful. 14. I sat just a few feet away from Luciano Pavarotti when he sang and I played in the orchestra. I have also played with Andy Williams, Van Cliburn, Cynthia Gregory (ballerina). I can't remember everyone. It's been a while. 15. I decided that I didn't like alcohol and haven't had a drink since I was 25. It just made me stupid. 16. I grew up with an alcoholic father. 17. I am very shy and have to force myself to be social. 18. I have four sisters and I was thrilled to have daughters. 19. I am grateful to know the Lord. 20. I am passionate about the sanctity of life. 21. I am debt free. 22. I have a yorkie/shi tzu dog and two cats. I love them all but really am a cat person. I have the greatest cat in the world. 23. I hate it when my house isn't clean (which it isn't most of the time). It is never filthy but also not ever as clean as I want. 24. I don't collect anything. 25. I am extremely thankful for all the wisdom and knowledge my fellow unomasers share with me.

1. I was on MTV when I was 15.
2. I got braces when I was 32.
3. My daughter has Down syndrome, and is perfect in every way. She was born in September 2007, 6 weeks early.
4. Aaron, my husband, and I met at work. We worked in the group homes for the mentally retarded at the time. He followed me home one night after we worked together and knocked on my window at a stoplight to give me his number. We've been together for 12 years now!
5. I was born in Iowa and lived there until I was 13.
6. I didn't know my father's name until I was 26.
7. I didn't meet my father until I was 28. He passed away 3 years later.
8. I have a sister I didn't know about until I was 28. We're pretty close now.
9. My brother lives with us and watches Kaelyn during the day.
10. I have type II diabetes.
11. We recently had to put my 13 year old cat down. He had had diabetes for the last 4 years. I miss him horribly.
12. I didn't talk to my mom for 8 years. we started talking again during my pregnancy and she is a wonderful grandma to Kaelyn now.
13. I have worked at CPS for 8.5 years now. I have been the developmental disability specialist for the last 3 years.
14. I have a Master's of Social work.
15. I am also a licensed social worker.

18. I have never smoked a cigarette.

20. I suffer from migraines, but keep them maintained through massage therapy. I have been getting massages about every 3 weeks for the last 11 years.
21. I was interviewed for an article in Diabetic Living magazine several years ago.
22. We do not talk to my mother in law. One of our many issues with her is that she used Kaelyn's DS to get attention/sympathy for herself.
23. I like to knit, crochet, and cross-stitch. I cannot sew to save my life! I secretly wish I could quilt.
24. I get to go to Austin and San Antonio once a month for work.
25. I hope to provide individual therapy to others one day, in my own practice. I would love to focus on families facing issues with children with special needs.
