Hi everyone
I'm sorry I've been rather occupied elsewhere for so long that many newbies will have no idea who we are. I do want to catch up in the next few days though and want to let you all know how we're doing.
Stevie is loving, loving school - when she gets to go Between snow days and nasty colds, she's missed quite a bit lately. Still, she's loving it, and doing better than anyone (except me) thought she'd do. She's responding appropriately to questions about half of the time; following 2-step instructions; talking at that level where she says way more than we can understand Her clarity is improving steadily though. So she's getting through all of her current goals but they ought to last okay until May when we re-visit the issue.
Funny story: Stevie came downstairs yesterday naked from the waist down (yes, she was fully dressed when she went up), and she was wiping herself with a purple rubber ducky that was covered in excrement. Hmm... "Mary," I called upstairs to my 15-y-o, "is there poop on the floor or in a chair, or something up there?" "I think that she just pooped in the potty, Mom, 'cause she flushed the toilet a minute ago." "Check anyway."
Mary has a good nose and she looked around for awhile and declared the place poop-free - woo hoo!!! Stevie had gone to the upstairs bathroom, removed pants, diaper, and socks , pooped in the potty, flushed, and found "something" to wipe herself. Yowza! I know from experience that all kids do this potty training thing with individuality but this is off the charts for us ;D
Edited see below.
