My brother is in the hospital. His doctor admitted him a couple of days ago thinking he was in congestive heart failure. As it turns out he has a tumor inside the right atria of his heart. It's called atrial myxoma. It will have to be removed.
Additionally there is a thickening of the colon, and that will be tested further. At some point the oncologist still wants to start chemo to treat the lymphoma.
I cannot imagine doing surgery on a 76 year old man's heart. When he got the news yesterday afternoon around 4:00 PM I watched the depression just surround him.
Please pray for him and his family. This is very difficult for all of us.

Things keep getting worse. The thoraxic surgeon believes that the tumor in my brother's heart is part of the lymphoma. One of the scans has indicated lymph node involvement on the left side as well.
Right now he's giddy that he doesn't have to have open heart surgery. I don't think he realizes that the cancer has spread.
