She pooped on the potty all by herself!! The differences from last time: she was completely naked this time (not just waist down), she used a downstairs potty, she came to me for wiping rather than using a rubber ducky (maybe for lack, since I tossed it ). Then this morning, she went on my potty after I'd done my thing She acted like it was just the ordinary routine: Mommy pees, then I poop, then get dressed, ... I'll let you know if she repeats on Monday (she gets up for cartoons on Saturday with her sibs and Mommy sleeps in - there's no breaking that routine )

Wow, that's great, and amazing. In my house we prefer Kandoo's to purple rubber ducks, so far. -- Bob

Jessie, you are so funny! Have a look at my signature - I have kids who are 15, 13, 10, 7, and 5 (in addition to Stevie) all of whom can and do make their own breakfast and can operate the TV and DVD player. The older ones make sure that Stevie get's her breakfast, and if someone forgets to lock the pantry, she's foraged for her own Oh well, I have plenty of slaves to help clean up the mess. Saturday morning has become something of a date for dh and me Bob, we do like the Kandoos - much more effective and cheaper than rubber ducks *chuckle*

Keep up the good work, Stevie! ;D
Chris..It wouldn't matter how many "extra" children I had. John-John is the first one up & he heads right for mom & dad's room. So no extra sleep here. Pat

Congratulations, what a big girl! That is so awesome that she is initiating it herself, that must mean she's really ready. Glad to hear the duck was unavailable for further service, I'd have tossed him too, LOL!!!
And I'm with you, Pat. Ethan heads straight for our room. Worse yet, he knows how to operate the TV and DVD player himself. We woke up one night around Christmas to the sound of one of the boys' favorite videos - he'd gotten his little brother up TOO! They were both watching TV in their chairs with their blankies at 3am. Sheesh.

I have been wakened quite a bit lately by the TV being turned on by Stevie - she can use the buttons or the remote, and she often comes into my room upon waking in the morning, so I don't get to sleep in except on Saturday. Maybe I should explain "sleeping in" - usually Stevie is the first to rise, and I have to take my thyroid anyway. So either dh or I will get up with her, get a pot of coffee started and get my thyroid (dh doesn't take it for me, but brings it with a cup of coffee, if he is the one who got up), get her something to eat and give her the Prevacid. By this time, the cartoons on the TV have woken up one or more of the other kids and the parent on duty, retires back to bed. That is "sleeping in" for us Love the TV and blankies at 3AM image, Laura! Too cute. Hard to get mad at that, but certainly back to bed This morning Stevie repeated the sitting on the potty for 5 minutes or more, but no action. She did get some toilet paper for wiping herself though and - here's a shocker - her diaper was DRY Could it be that her body is producing that hormone already that slows the production of urine at night? She didn't go all night, and then, though she did try (pushing hard enough to pass gas), she didn't go on the potty either. She couldn't have had much urine in that bladder. If she keeps this up, we will be done with diapers in the forseeable future. Woo hoo! I do love progress.
