for Brooks treacamalsia/ringomalsia (sp) problem she has..... MOVE TO THE COAST!!! Yep thats it too. We were there for 4 nights,5 days and not one funny noise from her.No funny noise with every breath after one night. Slept like a log. No waking up gaging and not breathing, NOTHING!!! I am amazed. It was night and day. She was a wonderful girl the whole week. Why is this I wonder? Mist in the air? Just the sea air? Anyone have a clue for me? I also have been giving her the Zantac but even before she would make the funny noises and gag. Hmmm... We go for her sleep study Monday night. They said it could take up to a month for the results. What? Ahh NO, i'll bug the doc to hurry up...LOL. If I can capture a apnia eppisode in under a minute there is something wrong. I have a call into the ENT to ask the above questions. If all I have to do is move to the coast and Brook will be all better with no cutting on my kid, well i'll leave tomorrow. I've ran this motel for 5 years, I could find a job hopefully easy. Yes I have pics too but that will have to wait as hubby and Brooker are napping and the pics are on home base in my room.

John was diagnosed with mild Ap. when he was 2 weeks old. I have kept a vaporizer in his room all winter. It does seem to help, alot. HMMM! Makes me wonder to, I do use sea salt in it (hard water).

Zantac is the likely reason, but the humidity is also great for breathing It takes time for the airway to heal - the Zantac just gets rid of the acid in there so that it can do that. That is a very speedy healing - what was that 4 or 5 days before you noticed a change in her breathing? That's great news. The results on the sleep study depend on the ENT's schedule. The study has to be read by an ENT, so you wait for them. Even when Stevie was an inpatient, it took them 3 days to get the results & that with considerable pestering. If there is real concern about her O2 sats at night (due to symptoms), then they will get you an apnea monitor at least - pita, if you ask me, but if it helps you sleep easier, it's worth it. I was glad to have it following Stevie's surgery because while still in the hospital the night following, she dropped below 85% O2 saturation several times due to swelling. That was a hard night even with the nurses hurrying in at each alarm. Have you been trained in infant CPR?

Have you been trained in infant CPR? Yep but a refresher corse wouldn't hurt. I took Mary and her step brother when I was 9 months preg. They also had a newborn at their dad's so I thought it a must. Thats how the Zantac worked everytime I gave it to her. For about two weeks/month and she was fine. Off a month and back to the funny noise. I will keep her on it forever if thats what it takes

You are too funny. I think you should move to the coast too. Afterall what Brookster wants or needs Brookster should get. Am I biased or what? Kim

CC, we were trying to do a allergy blood test a few months back along w/ a cbc. No blood that day. After the sinus disease diagonis I wash everything around at least every other day including curtains and bedding and heater filters. I have a call into the ent, still waiting, to see what she says about the coast air. Of corse the funny noise is back just days after returning home. Brook sure is keeping me on my toes Maybe i'll go talk to Dr Tammy today.
