YIKES the time is here again for us to figure out what to due Christopher went for his first time ever for a week sleep over last summer and sadly hated it I guess a better way to say it, was just not his cup of tea... Anywho the time is here that we have to decide what to do about this summer I sent in the application again this year thinking maybe we will give it one more try. He did come home sick last year so maybe he was not feeling well the week he went, KWIM There are 3 weeks open for his age group but only one of the weeks is good for him the other two are while he is in his extended school year. Being he really loves the ESY program Colin and I said K, lets just try of the one week he is free of any programs. We find out in April if he gets in the week we want and he is free. Part of me wants him to get in to give it one more shot and the other part of me doesn't want him to get him since last year was not that good for him. Just another what to do what to do moment CC ~

;D ;D ;D Hi CC... Sounds like you all have the ideal situation for everyone. 3 weeks is a long time for someone who's not too sure about the place maybe he WAS sick last summer and thats why he didn't like it as well or maybe the length of time over a week was too long. So the 1 week sleep away sounds awesome cause I remember how much he LOVES his ESY. I wouldn't want him miss his favorite part of summer... Hmmm sounds like you have an ideal plan there.((HUGS))) Steff

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Oh yea CC and speaking of camp I had been looking for sleep away drama camps for Olivia and found one. It's actually the one whereby the "hows your news" program on MTV got started at the Cheshire camp. So while researching the camp came upon this picture page I am linking up here . I was DUMBFOUNDED when I saw the pics and so was Liv and my family cause there is a gal there that looks IDENTICAL to Liv from the glasses to the haircut to the face. With the exception of her teeth they look IDENTICAL. Liv even said THATS ME... Hey when did I go on a boat.lol . Hafta share here (((HUGS))) Steff www.cheshirela.org/2006florida.html

{{{{{{HUGS}}}} Maybe last year he was not feeling well. He has his new heart helper this year. Maybe he'll feel more up to it KWIM? BTW, how is he doing with his new p-maker? Best wishes in the decision CC. What does Chris want to do?

I would try it a second time if it is just for a week. Be sure to communicate with the staff that it was not a good experience for him last year but that you want to give it another try. That way maybe they can improve his stay this year. If it's still a bust I would just give it up in the future. Not every person enjoys camp...my oldest, Katie, hated her stays...but Marnie counts it as one of her greatest adventures...and went on to be a counselor herself. Emily did not like her 7 week camp in NJ but she loved her 10 day Girls Scout Camps.

CC, You know I've always been a big fan of sleep over camps; mostly because Emily has always loved the ones she has attended so much! And, Christopher is soooooooo much more of a social guy and is able to do so much stuff that Emily wouldn't even try.............so I would give it one more try! If he really just hates it again, then maybe it's just not his thing. Last year was the first year in many years that Em didn't get to go to a sleep over camp. Due to funding issues, the camp was not able to hire sufficient staff and they only let a small number of kids go.........and we signed up too late for Em to be one of those kids. So, this year we are very hopeful! I hope both of our kids make some great camp memories this year!

I'm sure that is a really tough decision. But, I agree with everyone else, try it one more time for just the one week.
What is the update on how he's doing physically?
