A Highway Patrolman pulled a car over and told the driver that because he had been wearing his seat belt, he had just won $5,000 in the statewide safety competition. "What are you going to do with the money?" asked the policeman. "Well, I guess I'm going to get a driver's license," he answered.
"Oh, don't listen to him," yelled a woman in the passenger seat. "He's a smart aleck when he's drunk." This woke up the guy in the back seat who took one look at the cop and moaned," I knew we wouldn't get far in a stolen car."
At that moment, there was a knock from the trunk and a voice said, in Spanish, " Are we over the border yet?"

Thanks Bob. My niece got married there and they say they had as much fun as the kids. I did check the sites, but nothing beats hearing it from someone that has been there. So is your wife free for next July?? ;DJust kidding.

25 SIGNS YOU HAVE GROWN UP
1. Your houseplants are alive, and you can't smoke any of them.
2. Having sex in a twin bed is out of the question.
3. You keep more food than beer in the fridge.
4. 6:00 AM is when you get up, not when you go to bed.
5. You hear your favorite song in an elevator.
6. You watch the Weather Channel.
7. Your friends marry and divorce instead of "hook up" and "break up."
8. You go from 130 days of vacation time to 14.
9. Jeans and a sweater no longer qualify as "dressed up."
10. You're the one calling the police because those %&@# kids next door won't turn down the stereo.
11. Older relatives feel comfortable telling sex jokes around you.
12. You don't know what time McDonalds closes anymore.
13. Your car insurance goes down and your car payments go up.
14. You feed your dog Science Diet instead of McDonald's leftovers.
15. Sleeping on the couch makes your back hurt.
16. You take naps.
17. Dinner and a movie is the whole date instead of the beginning of one.
18. Eating a basket of chicken wings at 3 AM would severely upset, rather than settle, your stomach.
19. You go to the drug store for ibuprofen and antacid, not condoms and pregnancy tests.
20. A $4.00 bottle of wine is no longer "pretty good stuff."
21. You actually eat breakfast food at breakfast time.
22. "I just can't drink the way I used to" replaces "I'm never going to drink that much again."
23. 90% of the time you spend in front of a computer is for real work.
24. You drink at home to save money before going to a bar.
25. When you find out your friend is pregnant you congratulate them instead of asking "Oh S*$# what the hell happened?"
Bonus:
26: You read this entire list looking desperately for one sign that doesn't apply to you and can't find one to save your sorry old butt.

Dear Lord,
Every single evening As I'm lying here in bed, This tiny little Prayer Keeps running through my head. God bless all my family Wherever they may be, Keep them warm and safe from harm For they're so close to me. And God, there is one more thing I wish that you could do, Hope you don't mind me asking Please bless my computer too.
Now I know that it's unusual To Bless a motherboard, But listen just a second While I explain it to you, Lord. You see that little metal box Holds more than odds and ends, Inside those small compartments Rest so many of my friends. I know so much about them By the kindness that they give, And this little scrap of metal Takes me in to where they live.
By faith is how I know them Much the same as you, We share in what life brings us And from that our friendships grew. Please take an extra minute From your duties up above, To bless those in my address book That's filled with so much love. Wherever else this prayer may reach To each and every friend, Bless each e-mail inbox And each person who hits send. When you update your Heavenly list On your own CD-ROM, Bless everyone who says this prayer Sent up to GOD.com.
AMEN

;D ;D ;D ;DI love number 12, 13, and 18 ;D ;D ;D I guess maybe I'll be saving up for a visit. We have a new family that just moved here from Mexico. They live across the street. Very nice family. The other day we we're outside in shorts and t-shirt and I was mowing the lawn. I saw the mother scream at her son "Put your hat and mitts on" ;D ;D Too funny I went over and told her sympathetically how difficult it must be for them to get used to a new climate. She said "It's not the climate its having to figure out if you need mitts or not every morning" ;D ;D We have become good friend and she has a nephew still in Mexico with Down syndrome. Adam being the only child in our communitty with Down syndrome, it is sure nice to have a friend that can semi relate towhat I'm talking about. Although we have a hard time understanding each other sometimes. But I asked her if she wanted to learn sign language, it may be easier for us to communicate some days. ; I make her Acadian meals (that's me the Acadian) and she makes me Mexican food. Hum. hum.

Wish I lived in Arizona. ;D ;D Yes you're right Debbie we can get some real nasty weather here. The winter storms are pretty bad too. Sometimes they close the schools, highways and a lot of cars won't even start even if they are kept in their garage. Which makes me think of knitting lots of mitts again for the next fall. ;D I still love where I live though, especially thewinter sports like ski-dooing, sleighing, skating and so on, best is ice-fishing on a warmer day.

We are in our summer season and guess what it was 31 today. ;DNow that is hot for us. It has been this hot for about a week now. It does get really dangerous for forest fires though. In our winters like in January it is not odd to get -40 to -44. That is not including the wind sheild factor. Brrrr......

When it's Springtime in Northern Ontario and the gentle breezes blow about seventy miles an hour and it's twenty-two below, you can tell you're in Northern Ontario 'cause the snow's up to your butt, and you take a breath of Springtime air and your nostrils both freeze shut. The weather here is wonderful so I guess I'll hang around. I could never leave Ontario 'cause I'm frozen to the ground!! ;D ;D

TWO WORDS By: Cheryl Ward Your birth brought us closer As death lingered near Your strength as you struggled Gave flight to our fear Down syndrome they whispered Days after your birth Two words that portrayed A false image of your worth Those words did not tell us Of the love your would bring Or the power your smile has To make our hearts sing Down syndrome didn't tell us What kind of child you would be Filled with amazing surprises Shared with your father and me Hard work, determination, teaching and learning, its true Down syndrome means much of this For each of us, not just you Wonder child, spirited child You've grown and you've thrived Your every achievement Still fills us with pride No matter the voice used Two words can’t describe The fullness you've added To so many lives Down syndrome, those frightening words Whispered so long ago Never did they prepare me For the person I now know
