We had the opportunity to bring Damara to see Sesame Street Live this Saturday! What a wonderful time she had! She was constantly hitting/slapping us to get our attention so that we were seeing what she was ! Too funny, her dad and I thought we were going to leave with bruises!!! What a hoot though...her eyes got so big they almost popped out!!! TeeHee

Shoot...I'm here all day long off and on. Right now I'm not working and Damara is at school from 8-11 and I just check all day whenever, she might be busy with her dolls or not saying "mommy" 9 hundred times!

Damara has always loved photos. She is just starting to be able to name the people and recognize herself. An she has a blast. We have made her several photo books, that she takes with her on car trips or even on the plane...she can look at the same photos over and over again!!!

PLEASE don't ever feel like you are whiney or that you think that Jelani looks bad! PLEASE!!! We are all in the same boat, I never feel bad, cuz I know that there is always someone out there that has gone through the same thing as we are and they can help! As unique as Damara is...most of her issues are common, and I just don't know all the answers, so I come here for everyone's expert opinion! Besides, I love hearing from you! You are a HOOT!!!

Chris, Odd huh? I actually responded to this last night, but not showing...hmmmm??
Anyway Dawn- I'm really sorry that you are having such a tough time sleeping. We went through a rough patch with Damara having night terrors and I was exhausted! We made some changes to her routine and she has been (knock on wood) sleeping through the night ...so I know how you feel being sleep deprived. However, I don't have any suggestions since our issue wasn't getting up to play...GRRRR! I would love to bottle this energy and take some on my lazy days!

Well, I have not had the experience of being told that Damara "would be" or "wouldn't do"...we have been very lucky to have great professionals in our lives that always said..."we just don't know what she will do, wait for her to show us". But when she was born and we were told she had ds- yes we found out at time of birth- and then a few hours later were told she had 2 large holes in her heart, that's when my own mind started to put limits on her. I thought she wouldn't make it, then after surgery I thought she will not walk or talk or be able to attend school... Well....I say with such pride that she has proven me wrong on every thing! I am glad to say that I no longer have any preconcieved thougths about her ability to do anything! She has shown me that she can and will do what ever she darn well feels like! We are such proud parents of this wonderful girl- And as you all know...her achievements are always more exciting because she works to hard to get them!

I think that no matter the reason for why he is so wet, he should not have to sit in such a soaked diaper! I would raise my voice until they corrected this problem.
