???I was wondering if anyone has a good website or chart that details what our kids should be checked for at their well visits. I mean in addition to the "normal" stuff. Laura had her 6 months check up today and she is going to have her thyriod check. I know this should be checked at 6 mos and 1 year. Any more than that I am unaware of Also, she is having her neck stability checked at 1 year old. I think this is an x-ray. Is 1 year a typical time for this? I haven't really read anything about it one way or the other. ;D ;DBy the way, she did great at her check, we are soproud of her!!! She weighs 15lbs 2 oz (she weighed 6lbs 10oz at birth) She is in the 75% for weight and 45% for height (I forget her height measurement, but I think it was 24 inches). ;D

Marisa, Thanks once again to Dr. Len Leshin, guidelines and flow charts are conveniently located at www.ds-health.com/Scroll down to Down Syndrome Health Guidelines Think what you want just now is at www.ds-health.com/recordsheet1.htmBut you'd also want to read the guidelines, www.denison.edu/collaborations/dsq/health99.htmlThe x-ray to check for AAI is not diagnostic until age 3 but doing an early check is not a bad idea. Charlie's ped had one done for a baseline at age 2 then repeated at age 3, when we could rule out AAI. Dr. Leshin has an essay on that too, www.ds-health.com/aai.htmBut sounds like Laura is doing great. Regards, Bob

Thanks, that was what I was looking for . I needed some kind of chart or graph to make sure I wasn't missing anything. My pediatrian is awesome, but I feel like I need to be on top of things too.

Russell didn't get his AAI xray until after he was 3. Some docs do it earlier which I don't know why, but most do it after 3. I have read the tests being inaccurate more when they are younger. I here lots of docs say it should be done around age 3-4... so ask your doc why so soon... Just a suggestion.

I am hearing more of that. Doing the test later than one year, I mean. I am thinking maybe it has to do with turning the car seat around. I know the whole rear facing thing is mostly a neck issue. We go tonight to get Laura a flu shot, so I will inquire.
