I have not been here for so long. It seems that I just have not had a minute to sit and type...We have been very busy and lots going on, but, let's just talk about the fab Damara!
She is in Kinder this year. Full days! She gets on the bus at 7:15 am and returns on the bus at 3:15pm...she is one tired little peanut. She is in bed every night by 7:30 ( I have to say I kinda like that part)...well true to Damara fashion, she spent the 1st week winning everyone over at school. She was nice, sweet, loving then week 2! OMG, she has shown her true colors...EVERY day we get a note back with some kind of comment..."Damara was defiant today, shaking head NO, Damara was not making good choices, Damara got up out of chair and walked out of room" She is one second adorable, then a little challenger! She goes to FA (Functional Acedemics) part of her day and typical Kinder the rest. She gets along VERY well with the other students, she is very gentle and caring with them.
They have a "rock" wall in the play yard to climb to get to the slide. Damara EVERY DAY will stand in front of this, the children go around her, they climb up the wall, she will pat thier behinds with a little "assistance" and when they get to the top she claps and gives a big YEAH! this is EVERYDAY for EVERY CHILD! The teacher crys when she tells me Damara Stories, they are so in love with her!
She is playing Soccer this year. Her 1st year...she is playing with the Frisco Miricle League. She is having a BLAST! And I have to say...she sure does look cute out there..
Although Damara is 5, she still is not communicating very well and they are having a group come in at school and test her with communicative devises to see what we can do to help her out. She is going in a week for her eyes to be tested. She is ON TOP of every paper, she will bring items right up to her face to look at them, when she colors or writes her face is not more than 1-2 inches from paper...She has done this forever and we have had her tested before and they state her sight is good, but the school is requiring we get her tested.
She has been dropped from PT as she has tested "normal" teehee! Guess her only issue now is she is VERY CLUMSY!
Her ARD last week went VERY well, and her new school and teachers are wonderful.
Anyway I'll stop since this is getting very long...Can't wait to read how the other families are doing! Sorry for the time off...
