I know you all will appreciate this...last night I changed Kaelyn into her jammies and she walks out of her room into the hallway, looks around, and then says "my daddy where'd you go?" Aaron and I both ran out into the hallway because it was so clear and shocked us!!!!!

Speech is one of those funny things. Sarah's speech is often garbled and difficult to understand but on those rare occasions, it can be as clear as a bell. I have heard great improvements this past year. It just happens to be an area where she struggles.
We ran into a friend with a daughter who has Ds and is about 9 months older than Sarah. We hadn't seen them in a couple of years. This little girl is one of those kids who doesn't struggle with speech. What a difference!
Thanks for sharing your sweet story. Way to go Kaelyn! ;D

That's one pleasant surprise! ! !
Chris, I can relate so much to what you said. Emily has had SO much speech therapy, and she still struggles with her speech. I tend to be the one person who understands her better than anyone.......and there are so many times when even I can not understand her at all. She speaks FAST and her words tend to sort of slur together at times. It is the one area where she really has a hard time, and it makes me feel so bad for her because she often just stays quiet and does not try to make us understand. And then there are times when she will come out with a long sentence or story that is clear as a bell!
