Ethan takes Zoloft, Jackie. Dr. Hornyak at U of M prescribed it for his anxiety....which I understand isn't necessarily a usual reason for using it, but he had seen some success with it.
It had the surprising effect of bringing him out of his shell, almost overnight. He's always been fairly verbal with us, but he was far more interactive with others, asking questions, initiating conversations, etc. I'm of course not sure if he was depressed and we were unaware, or if the added serotonin somehow "unlocked" his speech. We'll never know, but I'm incredibly grateful for the stuff!!! He's on the lowest dose, 25mg per day.

I am on Remeron. It has helped me with my Fibromyalgia. It has given me some peace in being able to sleep. Zoloft did not help me at all. It just made me really lightheaded. I had to try several types of drugs that made me feel like a zombie before the Dr. put me on the Remeron. So far it has been successful.

Sarah is on Zoloft and it has been a wonder drug for her. About three years ago she started having some violent outbursts. It was very scary for everyone. She started taking Intuniv which helped but she was still generally grumpy. We finally tried Zoloft and she is a happy girl! We are pretty certain that Sarah was sexually abused at a babysitter's house several years ago. She was not verbal enough to tell us about it but showed just about every sign of being a victim of abuse. It was a sudden onset so we were able to pinpoint exactly when it happened. It makes me sick. I don't think the sitter did it, who was also a paraprofessional at her school, BUT I do think she allowed it to happen.

Emily is on Zoloft and Abilify ...at least I think it is Zoloft...it is hard with her living so far away to keep up with it all.
