Man oh man...it has been a month and Katie is still wearing these new glasses and they are still in one peice. We got those FLEXON for Kids. Which is nice, because they flex when she takes them off.. which is everytime we get in the car (GRRRRRRRRRR that and her shoes) and when she is angry!
But they are holding up. So Knock on wood, they were a great investment! And now, Wal-mart asked us if they could provide Katie with a free eye exam and new glasses as part of their community outreach. ROFL where were they in June when it took me two months to get these?
Anyway, they approached us while we were shopping and who am I to say no. We need a pair of backups. With the way CRC is floating around here, I am lucky I remember to take them off her when I put her to bed.
Hugs,
Cathy

OK, Cathy...don't hold back. Tell me where you got these awesome Flexon glasses and tell me where I can get them cuz geez louise...I NEED THEM! I was just discussing/venting to dh about Aidan's multiple pair of bent and scratched up glasses that he doesn't even wear and has never worn for more than 2 seconds at a time but they seem to be very messed up in those few seconds he wears them and I'm frustrated when it comes to the glasses thing and running out of ideas... So...SHARE WITH ME, GIRL! Staci

Not sure if they are FLEXOn brand, but Wal-Mart carries super flexible kids glasses. They're the only one that Chandler can seem to keep in one piece these days...

ROFL Staci,
Our Optometrist ordered them, but I found them on the internet too. Wal-mart carries similar ones. I just asked them for "BENDABLE" glasses. The key thing about these is that they have the wrap around ear pieces, but when she takes them off, the pressure is taken off the "joints".
So far we are very happy.. I will warn you, they were NOT cheap. I think the frames alone at Wal-mart are 112.00 the problem with them was that they did not have them small enough for Katie. I had to special order. Luckily the Lion's Club helped defray the costs. But well worth it, if they last!
Hugs to you and the kiddos, nice to see you posting again.
Cathy
PS.. try a search for FLEXON, bendable eyeglasses,or Titanium.

Well, Cathy...I forgot to knock on wood for you and Katie and the glasses...so, I'm knocking right now! That's great that she's keeping them on! I can't WAIT for Aidan to keep on glasses! It's been an endless battle with him to wear glasses...augh! The frustration! He ends up winning, though...and he knows it. I just get too tired to compete with him. If you think these are awesome awesome and then there was Michele saying they were great, too...well, now I MUST have them for my little destroyer! Thanks for sharing! I did a google search, and my oh my....you're right, they are quite expensive! But, if they'd bendy like you said, then Aidan couldn't destroy them as fast, and they'd be more than worth it! Staci

Staci...We still have a problem with Kourtney keeping her glasses on her face as well..These glasses are great, I have had them for about a year for her and only 1 pair.!! Love it !! I have had them adjusted once or twice but that cost nothing at all. I also had the glare and scratch resistance put on them, and we are still one the first set of lens.. In the long run the money was worth it. Good luck...We still need luck on our end. Tried everything short of a shoestring tied around her head LOL Michele

Thanks Michele! I will definitely be looking into getting them for Aidan...if it'll be worth it in the long run, then I'm alllll for it! We have tried everything, too, to keep those glasses on Aidan...one doctor even suggested we DUCT TAPE THEM to his face! OH MY GOSH, no way! He said he actually had parents who did it and it worked! Anyway...thank you guys! Staci

So, they approached you in Walmart while you were shopping and offered you free stuff ? That sounds pretty good to me !! We spend quite a bit of time in Walmart ourselves... but you know what ?....not one with an eye exam center.....hhhmmmm..... We may have to switch Walmarts !! And spend quite a bit of time strolling the aisles.

ROFL--hey we just got the optical department at our Wal-Mart- and there has to be some perk for living in no-mans land.
Stacy you would think that in the land of OZ you should be able to find those flexible glasses. Katie still takes hers off, especially in the car, but at least they are remaining in one piece. After all this pair # 7 in a little over a year!
Good luck!
