Just had to share with everyone that, we took Cooper swimming for the first time on Monday. He absolutely loved the water. He probably would have stayed in the pool all day, I was afraid to let him stay outside for too long because he is so fair complected. I didn;t want him to get sunburned. Does everyones kiddos like the water? He likes to splash the water on his face. He was too cute.

Meghan adores the water....she isn't crazy about being in a large size pool (this is new for this year) but she has a small pool (4ft) that she'll stay in all day if she can. She loved going to the beach last year and going floating around in the LI Sound...but since she hasn't liked big pools this year, we'll see if she's scared of the sound too. When it's cooler out and not good for the pool I put out a large basin with cups and boats and things and she'll play with that for hours too. In the bath she'll even dunk her head and now helps me wash her hair (and mine too!) but dumping great cups of water over our heads, lol! Meghan is very fair also so the sunburn thing is an issue. I try to use a 'waterproof' sunscreen and re-apply it often but she still manages to get a little color. For Matthew (1yr) I purchased a bathing suit and hat that are made of cloth that offer SPF 50 protection. They sell T-shirts too but I haven't managed to find one yet. laurie

John-John loves swimming!! I got the Stage 2 swimming thing that is a suit with like a bicycle tire in it. I could throw him in and come back an hr later and he would still be floating. He loves kicking himself around the pool ;D They now have a swim sweater(same thing just not a full suit), which I am going to get him because the suit would give him a wedgee(sp) if it weren't for the swim diaperLOL The suits say 1-4 yrs, & the sweaters say 1or2-6 yrs. The other day I put him in w/o the swim diaper and my 7 yr old says"mom John pooped in his swimsuit". I go to check it out. Nothing, she says "around front" ROFLOL I said "remember he's build different" LOL

Sounds like Copper had a great time!
Jenna loves the water, but she gets scared in pools. I don't know why, because when we go to the beach she has no fear and keeps walking out to sea! She also dislikes it when water is cold. I have a little pool with a slide for her and I keep it in the sun for a few hours to warm it up, and she has a blast.
I have been using spf50 sunscreen on jenna too, and she still has a little X on her back from her swimming suit. If I put the sunscreen on her face it runs in her eyes and cries so I quit doing that. She hasn't been burned yet.
