Wish us luck!! She will be the only one with a disability there... They did put her in a younger age group because of her size....but are treating her like "one of the guys" As a matter of fact, she will be on Austin's team.... I caught him telling her to push the bad guys(being the other team) down so he can score a goal for the team! Way to go Austin! NOT! I am sure this is gonna be interesting! I'll post up to let you know what happens....But I will be there with my camera of course! See you soon, cross your fingers for me!

Jen, Is this Courtneys first experience with organized sports? We started Collin this fall in soccer and he's only 4 and the only one with a disabilty on the team. So far (for us/me) its been far from great. While he does try sometimes, most of the time he just wants to cling to either Michael or myself. I'm wondering if I started him to young and should maybe wait a year or so. oh, lots of luck Courtney....and just don't get caught pushing and tripping ;D Connie

Go Courtney! Can't wait to hear how it goes! Most important thing is to keep reminding that you're doing it for FUN! I started Ryan last spring, he's 4. Some kids are into it and some aren't.
Connie, we had a couple of kids on our team who clung to parents. One team we played had a girl who sat in the middle of the field while the game literally played around her. All of the kids at some point stopped to pick the dandelions. They are 4 year olds! Just keep trying. Another thing I'll throw out there is karate. Just something to think about!
Good luck to all the little athletes out there!

;D Everything went pretty well.....This was all new to her and the boys so we are all beginners. I was her "aide" on the field... I just basically kept her focused on what the other kids were doing so when she had her turn, she would know what to do. She did it! And she then had to give everyone out there a high five and a hug. She really liked it! So....since I was helping her.....no pictures were taken. But Saturday is going to be different. It will be cooler and she will have some idea of what to do. I will be taking pictures then! And yes I will be sharing! Thanks for the luck! I'll let you know when her first game is. I think the jamboree is Sept 27th. Everyone jump in your cars and come on down! lol talk to you soon, Jenn

Wow Jenn, that is awesome! Courtney sounds like a fun little gal. I'm inspired to consider this for Ethan when he's a little older (he's only been walking a couple of months, LOL!) because he likes anything to do with balls, and is beginning to kick his little ball around our house.
Good for you for pursuing this for her! We'll forgive ya for no pictures this time (LOL!) but we want photos! Have lots of fun with this, your post certainly put a smile on my face!

I posted a couple pics in the album....Last night was Her and Austin's first game.... I am hoping next game will be better! They had NO team practices before their first game due to rain....so it was a bit much. And Courtney does not do things when she has no idea what to do. So she sat on the bench and yelled at everyone. lol.... I got a couple cute pics though.
