Hi there! I told you all I would get back on and let you know how the meeting with my "new friend" went.
Well... Her name is Emily and her daughter(DS) is Paige. They came over my house Fri. and we all got along great! Paige is 4 months older than Andrew and is doing SOOOOOO much more then him. I think it was good for Andrew to see another little one doing so much. KWIM?
We got along so well, we are making plans to get together again. Emily told me she just heard of another little boy with DS that lives only 5 minutes from me!!!We looked her up and all 3 of us will get together next time. ;D
So here I was thinking it couldn't get much better then this, and then I went food shopping. I was with my sister- in- law. As we walked into Hannafords, I couldn't believe my eyes, there was a little girl with DS!!!! I was shocked! And I have to say a big thank you to all of you who have posted on here about approaching someone who you see, at the store, restaurant, etc. I remembered a post last week on how most of you would like to be approached.
So.... with all the great info. I got on Unomas, I approached the Mom. She was REALLY nice and we talked for about 10 minutes. Her daughter is 8 years old and absolutely beautiful! But the best part is that she lives in my town!! Can you believe it! She said she had heard there was a little boy with DS in town but that her kids don't go to school here in town so she didn't have any other info. We exchanged #'s and I can't wait to call her and maybe all 4 of us can get together.
Now I needed to tell you all how this Unomas site is pretty scary. There was a post last week about how someone's son (Jason) would prove her a liar if she posted he couldn't do something on here, then her son would do it. Well, I just posted here about how Andrew was the only one in the area with DS, and now look!! Not only is he NOT the only one, but this group is expanding faster then I can tell you! I am sooo happy!
So... just testing things out here....... Andrew can not walk, Andrew can not walk... LOL!!!! ;D ;D
I'll let you know!
Thanks everyone for such great advice in here!! -Trisha
