That's right 7:30am that big yellow child stealer came and took my two older babies away (they're 12 & 13 years old). I don't care how old they are, I still get misty eyed when that bus pulls away. And if that wasn't bad enough Marissa started kindergarten today. We only have 1/2 days here and she didn't go until 12:30. I took pictures of her "first day of school" before we walked down to meet the bus, and good thing I did because when that bus pulled up, she pulled me across the street, threw down my hand and hopped on that bus so fast I didn't even get a glimpse of her cute little face. So there I am, "kicked to the curb" by my own daughter, tears overflowing my eyes, when I look up at the big burly(sp) bus driver and say (through my tears) "ummm... would you mind if we waited until you turn around at the end of the street to get picked up so we won't have to be out here in the colder weather?" And guess what he said? "Whatever you want ma'am, whatever makes you happy, that's no problem, no problem at all." LOL! The poor guy!!! Having to deal with me on a day like today. I feel so bad! LOL! So I thought I could spend the afternoon playing with Andrew but he decided to take a nap. Ohhh well.... only 1/2 hour until the boys come home and the silence is shattered once again...... How I miss all the noise. Yeah.... I should be yelling at them to be quiet 15 minutes after they're home. ;D There has to be a happy medium somewhere.

LOL!!!! For some reason that big yellow child stealer always brings them back though! I suppose it is a love/hate relationship with the school bus, huh?
Geez, you guys are making me feel guilty for being postively GIDDY yesterday in my post about The Boy heading off to school. I suppose in 5 years when baby girl is going off to kindergarten I will be bawling my eyes out too!
Hope your kiddos had a great first day. ;D

AWWWWW That darn yellow bus!!!! LOL
This year was the first year I didn't get all teary eyed when my kids went to school. I always get a little misty because it's kinda like their birthday.. getting older, new class, big kid stuff, ect... but not this year.
Jessie, don't get me wrong, I was happy that school started. But mainly because I felt SO bad for Russell this summer. It gets so dang hot alot that he gets cabin fever and GROWLS all day... he needed to be back at school.. I need to NOT hear growling for a bit. I also just get excited in general about kids going to school..new class, such excitement for them! I love new things and loved school so I live vicariously through their new school year every year! LOL
Reece starts pre-k sept 12. I only had her in 2 days last year and we will be going back to 4 1/2 days this year. Getting ready for big bad kindy next year!

I know what you mean about that bus!! I would love to have my daughter around but believe me she would not allow that. She absolutely loves school. She gets up on Saturdays and asks for that darn bus. I have learned through the years though that getting up and going to school is the BEST thing for her. The difference in attitude during the school year and the summer is astounding. I guess it is because of the structure she has at school that we just do not have at home.

That's funny you call it the big yellow child stealer....And I call it the heaven on wheels. I live every summer to see that big yellow bus. LOL It seems to be more of an enemy to me when it stops coming for 2 and 1/2 months LOL.
Bless you honey. Hope they all had GREAT days.
