Thanks Radonna for posting this picture for me. I've GOT to learn to resize my pictures!!!
This little angel is Emily Lauren Pace when she was about 5 hours old, I think. She was born with duodenal atresia and had to have surgery at 24 hours old. The pictures of her that were taken after the surgery , after she was full of IV fluids look SO different! Her face was so swollen! She went through so much those first few days. On day 6, she and I went to a private room on the pediatric surgery floor and REALLY bonded! I sat there and held her and was so amazed. (and STILL am!) That first week was a bit rough because she was not allowed to have more than 15 cc of breast milk (3 teaspoons full!) at a time.
She has come a long long way!!!!!

Susan, What a little angel! I miss those newborn, cuddeley days. I'll have to get a picture of Aidan as a newborn on here soon. If only I could figure it out! I keep trying, but I am doing something wrong. I'll figure it out, one way or another. Staci

Okay....here's my Jamie again. And a very fresh Jamie, too! The ink wasn't even dry on him! He was about 10 minutes old here. As I said before, the oxygen cover on his head looks like a dish cover, so much so that I asked the nurse if he was my son or my entree. Sad thing is, his feet haven't gotten any bigger since then...lol Shannon

Here is my Lewis at about 20 minutes. I didnt get much of a chance to cuddle him before they had to stick all the tubes and monitors etc on him. Lewis was born with Duodenal Atresia and had surgery to correct it at 18hrs old. Talk about stressful!! He was born 4 weeks early and we were worried he may be too weak to make it through. But he proved a lot stronger than we all thought !!
