Laurie: We definitely stay in the same hotel.......a HUGE part of the fun is just hanging out at the pool or other gathering areas at the hotel. We'll start searching for a good one soon. Anyone want to volunteer for that job? If not, I'll be happy to search. Susan

Susan - I'm trying to get my portfolio done for school -- to try and get some of my work experience credits out of the way...and it's due Feb 15th (yikes!) - but if I can help out w/ research after that date, I'd be happy to...as long as school doesn't ask me to re-write any of my portfolio -L.

We almost always stay at a holiday inn holidome cause it has a great pool and a kids play area and arcade. They seem to have reasonable prices also which makes it even better although I dont have any problems using another hotel if they have the same kind of stuff for the kids. I do remember one year we stayed where the water in the pool was sooooo cold, we cant ever make that mistake again, man, even I didnt want to swim!!!! Hugs, Robin

I have to put in my vacation requests at work by the end of the week so is the plan still to meet at Cedar Point the weekend of June 25, 26, & 27? My older girls are so excited about going to Cedar Point and meeting everybody and doing the rides and pools!!! Not sure if DH is going to make the trip, but shhhh, don't tell him, but I'll probably enjoy myself more if he doesn't!!!! Also, I'm also going to request off Labor Day weekend and try to make that gathering too! How many more days til I can put some faces with the names?!?!?! Barb

BARB: I'm sure hoping that date works out for everyone. I had to put in my requested days off for the whole summer last week, so I requested those days for June, the 3rd weekend in July for St. Louis, and a week around Memorial day to go to the beach. I really hope we go ahead and start planning a Dayton or Cincinnati Labor Day get together too. I'm SO glad you can come!!! Susan

Ok, we are not going to CA for our visit to our friends, SOOOOOO... we need a family vacation closer to home and Cedar Point JUST might do it!!! I hope those dates you are all talking about works better than last year for my work. It was inventory and they weren't too keen on my leaving...
Also, I just need to know WHERE you are staying so I can ck into it. We will probably do like last year in Chicago and stay longer than you all for our family time but THIS TIME we will stay AT the same place as you all the WHOLE time LOL.
I told Kevin about Cedar Point since CA is out, and he thinks it might just work!!!
And then STL in July... WOOHOO for me!!!

This is just a suggestion here, but a really good one if I do say so myself!! There is a really good looking Holiday Inn in Sandusky.....LARGE indoor pool, outdoor pool, etc, etc. (Can you tell what I'm interested in???) The internet rates don't look that good. I'm willing to call and ask them about group rates, BUT....in the past I have found that you absolutely can not beat the Entertainment book rate. A year or so ago, I bought an intertainment book for $15 and have saved HUNDREDS since then. There are different books for different cities....you buy the one for your own city or the largest city near you. Then, you get discounts for that city PLUS huge savings on stuff like hotels, car rentals, etc. We stayed at quite a few different Holiday Inn's......I'd call the reservation number in the book and the room rate was almost always HALF the rate if you just called the hotel, or the internet rates. visit www.entertainment.com
IF we all got entertainment books between now and June, I'm pretty sure we'd all save a LOT more than trying to get group rates. (I think this year's entertainment book is $20 rather than $15...but still a great deal. It's good for one year)

I have this year's entertainment book already. If I remember correctly, each person with a book could get the discount for two rooms, so only half of us have to buy the books!

I just went to the holiday inn website. It said there were no entertainment book rates available for that hotel. So we may have to try to get a group rate.

Alyssa....I too agree what an awesome way to spend your birthday:D I was there years and years ago, way before your time even! It was fantastic then and I hear it is way better now. Both of my older sons go there once a year as does my sister and her family so I cant wait and I am BIG on the Holiday Inn hotel. I bet ole Susan can get a great group rate for us. I would for sure aske for at least 20 rooms Susan. Yeaaaaaa Adrienne, I cant wait to see you guys again!!!!!!!! And this time, either your mom or Donnita's mom comes home with me, it is NOT fair my kids have no grandma like you guys's so I think sharing time is in order ;D LOLOL hugs, Robin
