The group sales woman from the Holiday Inn called me back today. Here is what she said:
For the dates we will be there, they have rooms available (June 24, 25, 26, right?), and the cheapest rate they have is $99 per night. She said this will be during the peak season at Cedar Point, and the nearby hotels (other chains) will be about the same price. There are 2 Holiday Inn's in this location. One is a Holiday Inn Express, and one is the Holiday Inn Holidome with full service restaurant. They are both priced the same. The exciting thing is that the only thing separating these 2 hotels is the POOL. If you have a room key to either hotel, you can use all the facilities at either hotel. (So if we chose the HI Express, we could still use the Holidome, and eat at the restaurant). The HI Express has a free breakfast each morning.....and to me that's worth a lot. The Holidome has an 18 hole miniature golf course, an indoor/outdoor pool, game room. Kids 12 and under eat free at the restaurant. If our rooms are at the HI Express, or on the NON Holidome part of the Holiday Inn, they are $99. If we want our rooms on the Holidome side, they are $129. I asked to be sure, and they do NOT participate in the Entertainment Book discounts. I asked her to reserve 20 rooms at the HI Express for now under "UNO MAS". If we decide to go with those rooms, each person just needs to call before June 3rd and hold their own room with their own credit card. She is sending me a contract to sign........We've done that before when we stayed there. After you reserve the room, you have till June 3rd to cancel. That's 3 weeks before the get together. I also asked her if they had any specials that included a free ticket to Cedar Point, and she said No, but they do have $10 off coupons. She also suggested that I call the group sales department at CP. I'll do that.

SO....what does everyone think? The rate was a bit higher than I had hoped, but I do think it will be hard to find a less expensive one.
