Just thought I'd share something GOOD Ryan got his yearbook, and in addition to the crummy class pic, there were TWO pics of him in the yearbook! One with his SLP and one with a reading buddy. I was so happy that they decided to include Ryan in more pictures - felt soooo good And boy it's nice to feel good every now and then He loved looking at the pictures and telling me the names of all the kids and adults he knows. That's great~I'm sure Ryan had a great time showing you his picture and all his friends. I'm glad they included him more in the yearbook.

Its a GOOD THING! So happy to hear that his pics were in the year book. My son's school newsletter always acknowledges kindy thru 5th, and there is never anything about life skills and our kids accomplishments. I called the teacher and told her why were our kiddos excluded from the newsletter. She told me she was unaware that WE would want her classroom to be acknowledged. Of course it should be acknowledged! Every class should be held in the same regard. So, now the newsletter has a place for Special Ed and Life Skills among the "other" classes as well! Now, our special needs students will have their rightful place in the spotlight as well.
