To make a very long and frustrating story short, Ryan is having his second AAC device eval tomorrow. The district lost its fondness for the original evaluator, and this process that started back in December is still dragging on. I am confident that Ryan is ready for the next level. He spells words out when we don't understand him as long as he knows the word. His current device does not have text to voice synthesis and that is what I am asking for. I am concerned about the evaluator's credentials and worried that the district is looking for someone to just say "nope" and save them a ton of money!!! So, please have positive thoughts for my guy tomorrow Thanks!! Jodi

BEST of LUCK Jodi and remember if they say something you don't agree with, such as he doesn't need it any longer, you can always disagree and request an independent eval Chris is 14 an on his 3rd different one. At this time we are using the Say it Sam. In all honestly he doesn't use it that much BUT he does and it is there when its needed, part of his total communication package. Let us know how it goes, will be thinking of you. CC ~

The teacher said that Ryan did great for the eval. He used his device and was very compliant (YAY ;D)
We will discuss the results on the 17th. Keep your fingers crossed!!
