Alice, the parks I mentioned are through the Columbus Parks and Recreation.. those are all public parks. The link was to Highland Park in the suburb of Westerville, which is a public park. So the pool is a public pool. They just have different fees for residents and non-residents. It said on the site. Even our park in our city is a public park.. just the residents of our city pay a reduced fee, but anyone can come. That is why I mentioned the few I did too.. they are public parks... and close. Well guys.. since we will be there the whole weekend, we can get an idea on a few close by, like the ones we mentioned and maybe drive by a few on Sat and go to the park on Sun. Just a thought A.

For those of you who go to the get togethers, Adrienne has found a park with a pool like the one we all went to in Chicago that was so much fun!!!!!! That way you can either sit and visit or swim and visit or do both all day long. The fee was very minimal and it made things so much more fun for the kids. I know us grown ups can sit and visit all day but the kids get tired of just the park after a while so this was a perfect find Adrienne, good job!!!!!!! Adrienne wil have a map for everyone once we get to the hotel Friday!!! I am so excited! Thanks again A for all the effort you and Susan put in to this get together!!!! hugs, Robin

The park sounds awesome! I remember hanging out at the pool in Chicago last year all day and that was a blast........and much better cause when we got really hot we just headed for the pool! I hope we can interest the kids in playing Tball or kickball at the park. I'm glad the selection of the park is behind us and now we can just look forward to the trip!! Susan

Everything sounds great!! I can't wait to go!! My great conflict now is that I am only thinking about bringing Cody this year. I really want my daughters to meet everyone but it would be such a great ride and inexpensive trip with them staying with grandma!! We can't even get out of the driveway without them fighting and us ready to turn around. This is really a hard decision. I have even actually got them new bathingsuits and have them packed to go. (am I looking forward to it or what!!! ;D , I even got our travel toothpaste, toothbrushes...etc. packed and ready ) Bobbies birthday isn't that weekend its the 1st , so we are having her a swimming party. Okay, just kind of debating, it would be so nice and quiet and relaxing with just Cody. Does that sound awful? We just never have a break here and relaxing sounds soo nice. Okay, don't know what my point is to all this so I better go and help Ron with dinner. Hugs to all, Kristi

Awwwwww Kristi, hugs to you! I can SO relate.....in fact, just the other day I considered the exact same thing!! Justin and Jordan both get along SO well with Emily, but they do NOT get along with each other very well at all!! We'll be thrilled to see the girls (Emily really loves to swim with Haylie), but you do what is best for you and Ron. Keep the stuff packed....it will be here before we know it!

Annette: When I saw your name on this thread, my first thought was "oh no.....they won't be there"!!! I'm so glad you are still hoping to come!!! Maybe you should call the hotel and book the room and just plan to call and cancel it if you are not able to go? That way you'd be sure to be there with us....the room rates are GREAT. If Michael is not able to come, please know we'll help you with the kids in any way you need. (I'll personally volunteer to help with Ashley.....LOL aren't I helpful???) How is Michael doing now, after his scary ordeal??? Did he have a good birthday?

Guys, Park seems very good and I hope that what said on the web site is true and they do not have any restrictions-limitations to non-residents if they have too many people in the pool. I know some public pools (Dublin and Worthington) do not let non-residents to inter even for high price or so in very busy days. So, please check it before going there just in case. Alice

Kristi.... I can soooooo relate to what you mean about the fighting and not getting a chance to relax and it being less money. However I LOVE your girls so I am glad I dont have to decide for you, LOLOL, it would be too hard! No matter what you do, I cant wait to see you!!!!!! Anette, I agree with Susan, maybe you should book a room and cancell it if you cant make it, I know you have til the last minute to do that and I would hate you to not be at the same hotel especially with those fantastic rates!!!! As much as I HATE to see summer end, I am so excited for another get together!!!! hugs, Robin

Ok.. I will be back later.. I am too lame to count right now, but I need to do a head count thus far. I do NOT want to be stiffed for rooms not taken. Oh.. and BTW... from our garage sales we stashed away some $ with my mom for the vacation.. so it's some saved up already! I have to be CAREFUL with buying school clothes... I tend to get crazy when wanting my kids to look cute LOL. MIL gave me some money yesterday and that helped. Reece is done, and Regan is pretty much done and Russell too. So I will just have to watch my pennies I will do a head count later... anyone else coming and hasn't booked yet, post up so I know that you are going though...k? And Alice, we will just ck it out when we get there. I am not going to worry too much. If it doesn't work out, then we will go to another near by park (I know the ones close by the map I printed) or go to Chuckie Cheese's or something... I didn't say any restrictions online.. and they take non-residents which, being a park and rec pool, they would have to... so we will just have to wait and see. Thanks a.

A~ I know from past experience about your concerns of having to pay for the rooms if no one books them. Remember that you have 48 hours prior to September 3rd to cancel, and just set a date in your mind......on that date, call the hotel and release all the other rooms and you won't be billed for any of the rooms but your own. I'd make that date August 30th....by that time anyone who plans to go should have already taken care of their reservation. Relax....from here on out is the FUN part!!!!! We have the hotel, we have the park for the picnic.......now we just have to plan on just the right amount of food so we don't end up needing to feed a small country with our left overs! A breeze from here on out!!! ~ Susan
