I have written three books so far since my twins were born. I know I am a novice, but I am sure that someone would/should look at them. I have sent one to Albert Whitman----rejected, and one to Limitless Dare to Dream---no response in months. Does anyone have suggestions. One book is written about a child with DS geared towards young school agers, another is about a survivng twin----geared toward school agers, the other is a collection of poems written from my NICU/Preemie/loss experience. I hope it is ok to post this here......as I am not published!!!! I just need help finding a publisher!!!! Thanks.

Deanna,
Hi, I am Debbie. I am not a parent here but a person who has Down syndrome. I am a writer of sorts and so I thought I might could add some advise. Have you thought of asking someone on the Down syndrome web site's on the Internet? You could e-mail the National Down syndrome Congress and see if they might could help you. Then there is the one in New York City. I think it is the National Down Sydnrome Society. I am sorry I don't have the web sites memorized. I don't think you will have problems finding it if you type those names in on Yahoo, Goggles or Microsoft Explorer. Then there is Woodbine publishing. I think that is the name. If I ever finish my book the way I like it, I may do the same.
This is just a thought.

you might try to get in touch with Janis who used to post often with us here. Her daughter Cariana passed away this spring from leukemia and I think she has finished a book she has been writing...perhaps you all could share resources....if you email me I will try and connect you .
