I have the world's greatest sister, but I wish I could trade my brother in on a new model. I was on the phone with my sister a few days ago, letting her know how Yosh was doing after his surgery. She has 3 boys, all of whom are close to being geniuses and she said to me that she hopes I know how lucky I am. She hopes I know what an incredibly wonderful child I have (which I do know ). Now my brother still has not met his 2 yr old nephew. No, he doesn't live in Alaska. He lives in Potomac, MD. He has 3 kids who keep asking when they will get to meet their cousin. I have tried to go see him, but they are never available. When my son was in the hospital having major surgery, he emailed me. Now they are going to be passing through NJ on their way to the cape and stopping overnight at my sisters. I have to drop everything and go there for Yosh to meet his cousins because they're not willing to make a second stop, 10 minutes out of their way. This is all planned for Friday afternoon, my busiest time of the week but we're going because I want Yosh to meet his cousins. So that's my brag and gripe for the week.

Kerri, you have a wonderful sister, take comfort in that.
I wouldn't lose any sleep over your brother - can't believe he has never seen Yosh. You go take him to your sis's to meet his cousins - bet they are just gonna adore him and I bet, too he will melt your bro's heart too.
hugs
Stella

Kerri,
You are doing right thing trying to keep family together no matter what. I think sisters are more closer than brothers or brothers with sisters. Unfortunatly, I do not have any siblings, but I am lucky to have many cousins (boys and girls). If I have problems with my boy-cousins, I know that I have to talk to their wives. So, to keep our big family together I became very good friend to my cousins' wives.
Hope everything will work great for you all. I am sure when your brother and his family meets Yosh they fall in love with him. Hugs, Alice

HEY..... Well I am glad you BROTHER is finally gonna meet his nephew!!!! Sheeshkabobs brothers can be such a PITA(you guess what that is lol) BUT glad the cousins get to meet Yosh etc. The pain in the butt trip for you will probably be worth every minute of it then maybe he will come see you next time after he takes one look at and meets Yosh. GOOD LUCK... Please lemme know what happened afterwards.

Davka on erev shabbos, heh? Well, good for you to do what is right. I am sure that in the LONG run you will gain from this, but don't be surprised if your brother still remains negative. It looks like he is prehaps uneasy with the idea of Yosh's DS., and he will probably need more than one visit to work through this....

Well, we went today and the kids flipped over Yosh, especially the girls. I'm really glad that Yosh has met all of his family, finally. And we got home in time for me to prepare for Shabbos and get online.

Kerri, Glad to hear it went so well. And you know what? I'll bet Yosh's cousins will want to continue spending time with him, and will put pressure on your brother to get together more often. The more he is around Yosh, the more he'll warm up. Who knows what goes through people's minds..........but if given a chance, Yosh will turn him around!!! You did the right thing.....it would have been so easy to just stay home, and I'm glad you didn't do that. Susan
