My mom and all of our family was in the middle of Hurricane Ivan when it came ashore in Pensacola. Mom's house and everything in it was completely destroyed. My grandparents got lucky....no damage at all. BUt there are certain parts of Pensacola that they can't even get to. They are expecting the death toll to rise considerably in the coming days.
Please say a prayer for all of those families who are hurt, lost, without anything, etc.... My Mom has nothing left and is having a nervous breakdown looking at the whole mess. I know there are 1000s more in her posiition. My heart goes out to them all! Thanks, Jenn

Jenn, My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. We recently (within the last 6 months) had an house fire and I know how that affected us and ours was only lightly damaged. I just can't imagine what your mother must be going through. Prayers, Connie

Jenn,
I'm glad your family is safe...and I'm sorry that your Mom lost so much...it must be truly devastating for her. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family and others who were affected by this terrible storm.

Oh no Jenn.....I'm really sorry to hear that! I'm sure she is devastated! I'll be thinking of her.
I talked to Deborah....Jennifer's mom. She was on her way back to Mobile from TN and said there wasn't too much damage at her house, thankfully!!

Jenn - am sending out many prayers for your mom and all the others in her situation. That is a horrible horrible thing to have to deal with. I can't even imagine. I'm just glad to hear that they are safe. And this might be a good time for those of us who can..the Red Cross can use donations to help all of these people who's lives and homes have been devistated by these storms: www.redcross.org/donate/donate.htmllaurie

Jenn, we are all okay. I left town with my parents. We were not sitting through that. We sat through a cat. 3 hurricane 25 years ago and never again!! Too scary!! My dh had to stay because of his job, but was safer there than at home.
I have not been able to get in touch with Lyn. I tried again last night. I am sure there is no power, but do not know about phone service. I will keep trying daily. I hope she thinks to call me sometime this week.
I was wondering if Ivan maybe changed your mind about a move to Pensacola. I do hope you will still consider it.

I guess its a possibility. BUT they are saying this is the start of a trend with the hurricanes. It is supposed to be bad for many years. ugg....
