We had our first evaluation to make sure we qualify for an evaluation today. It seems so silly to me, however, we were there.
It is very overwhelming to walk in a room with 6 other people sitting around a table. I warmed up rather quickly as they wanted me to talk about Alethea. Nothing I'd rather talk about.
We are now on the road to evaluations throughout the summer and they actually want to start her in school in Sept rather than waiting until her birthday in Oct. Any feelings on that?

Well.. sounds like you are off to a good start!!! What's a month going to hurt? LOL Most places don't do that so, if it would bring more continuity and familiarity to her placement adjustment, then I say do it in Sept! Why not?! LOL I know, she is young, and it seems like they need to be home with us.. but she will do JUST fine!!!!
And an eval to see if you need an eval? LMAO...

That is so weird...eval to see if you qualify for evaluation? But I've learned....special ed IS very different. Nothing shocks me anymore. I'd start her in September too, she'll probably love it.
