Hi! I'm back to UnoMas after a long absence, and seeking input for my sweet and adorable little guy, Silas, who is 7 and will be heading to first grade next year. Our wonderful school district has offered to purchase a keyboard for Silas. He struggles so much with handwriting that they've agreed to get him started on keyboarding. I've been searching for keyboards and there are so many out there, from Intellitools to Disney -- they all have their merits and i would rather have input from the experts (i.e. y'all!) about what may have worked for your children. Thanks! -Janet

If you google "adaptive keyboards" or the like... you come up with all sorts of great sites and options.. here is one to see what they offer www.infogrip.com/Russell use to use a big, one button switch but now he can use a regular mouse. I don't know if he uses the keyboard at school, most of the programs use the mouse, not the keyboard. A.

For us Chris did the touch screen in EI and in preschool but once in Kindy worked with the regular key board. They do have adaptive keyboards out there if your child has trouble seeing ... But for us getting Chris used to the regular key board worked very well There are many sites for adaptive keyboards this is just one www.sforh.com/keyboard-idx.htmlCC ~
