CC, I think it is for a third time you are starting almost the same question/concern about Sarah Palin's children being with her.
I am wonder why you are asking (just asking...) it again and again...
It is normal when kids are with parents.

Its almost over....thank goodness! I got to say, whoever wins, I will support this president. and pray that they are granted wisdom, strength, and compassion to lead this great country. These will be trying times, no matter what was promised. But I think as a nation we are up for the challenge. We have always shown brightly in times of trouble. And I hope this time is no different.

VERY well said, Dolly! And really, that's what every American should do.......we really owe it to ourselves to do that! I'll continue to pray for the country and the President.
Debbie, I'm very sorry to hear that you left us for any reason. I've been here a long long time, and we have had some VERY heated discussions (most of you won't remember this.......maybe 8 years ago I think) and the end results were tragic. We've come a long long way since then, and I don't think we've ever had anything close to that since that time. For the most part, I do think we try hard to be respectful and balanced. I've said it many times: I see the members here very much like an extended family, and wouldn't hurt anyone here purposely. And I don't always agree with my own family either.........but love them anyway! I hope no one ever leaves here because of spirited discussions on any topic.
Susan

Okay. I admit, I wasn't sure about Sarah Palin. I thought she sounded too good to be true. And she is a politican. Maybe not a national politican she is still a politican in the making. I guess I liked the fact that she kept family issues in the public. She wanted those to see herself as a Mother first above all. What if she had a daughter that is pregnant? So what? Christian's who are parents have son's and daughter's make those impulsive decisions with their hormones acting. It does not make that parent to be the bad person. Their teenage daughters were old enough to know the bird and the bees story. I liked the fact that she simply portrayed herself to be a person like all parents are every where. The only difference is that Sarah Palin is a Politican vying for the vice president job. You take that away and she is a woman, a wife and a Mother. She simply wants her children with her as much as they can be. And that boy Trig, is so cute!............Debbie

Hi Susan - It's okay now, but terrible at the time. I do remember 8 years ago, because that fiasco was shortly after I joined the board after Paige was born. I didn't want to make anyone feel bad or bring up bad memories, I just wanted people to realize that our online extended family can hurt us badly, and I saw the thread going a little south and didn't want a repeat. I agree we should all support the next President, whomever it may be.

Just so you all know, I have edited NEW Susan's post (NOT Emilysmom but another Susan) due to the fact that it was inappropriate and not called for. When this happens, we will do our best as moderators to send a PM to the author and ask them to edit or delete their own post or we will have to. That person has not read their PM so I have edited their post until they choose to do so. Personally, it makes this whole thread take a wrong turn and I am NOT about to let one post take down a whole thread, and THAT is where it was leading.... I'd rather keep this thread open and going if we can..... Happy Wednesday everyone! A.

Thank you, CC, for not going to ask any more questions about Sarah Palin's motherhood!
Life will show us if the choce for 44th presedent was right or wrong.

"now the big question will be....private? or public school for the obama girls???" Michelle Obama’s mother will move to Washington to help take care of her granddaughters, Malia and Sasha, sources close to the transition say. We are still reporting and trying to confirm, but a source involved in the transition also says the Obamas plan to send their daughters to a private school in D.C., maybe Georgetown Day School or Maret School. Since retiring in the summer of 2007, Marian Robinson has stepped in to care for Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, when Michelle Obama was out campaigning for her husband. The timing of Robinson’s move and where she will live are still being worked out. “She will be coming,” a source close to Michelle Obama said. “It’s just not clear when and where.” Robinson currently lives 10 minutes from the Obamas’ Chicago home. Michelle Obama has credited her mother with helping keep stability in her daughters’ lives during a hectic campaign that occupied much of their parents’ time. And Barack Obama has hinted that he might not have entered the presidential race if Robinson hadn’t been there to help care for their daughters. "I'm not sure we could do it," Obama told The Boston Globe in March. "I'm not sure Michelle would have felt comfortable with it, and I probably would have agreed with her." Michelle Obama has said being “mom in chief” will be her top priority in the White House. During the campaign, she often limited her campaigning to daytime events, so she could be home with her daughters in the morning before they left for school and in the evening when they got home — although as Election Day got closer, she was away more often. On the days when she couldn’t be there, Robinson was on hand to get her granddaughters off to the private University of Chicago Lab School, shuttle them to gymnastics, dance, soccer and piano lessons, and tuck them in at night. “If somebody's going to be with these kids other than their parents," she told the Globe in March, "it better be me." Malia will enter her new school as a fifth grader, and Sasha is in second grade. Tuition and fees at Georgetown Day School are $27,945. Maret School would cost $24,695 for Sasha and $26,780 for Malia. Both are both less than four miles from the White House. Sidwell Friends School was apparently under consideration but may not make the cut, according to a source CC ~ whom has Christopher in a private school too and am very glad we do

I'm glad the election is over. I have a great deal of respect for Sarah Palin for having the courage to run for the office. I'm sure as a young girl growing up in Wasilla she never considered that she'd be doing this. I also have a great deal of respect for her for keeping her family by her side. After all, they are and should be the most important people in her life.
I'll support President Elect Obama and his family as well. My prayers will be that he is given all that he needs to govern this great country in the manner that it should be governed.
I graduated from high school in 1962, and at that point I was going to be one of three things offered to 18 year old girls. I would study to become a nurse or a teacher or I'd get married and have kids. It was pretty exciting for me to see first Hillary and then Sarah!
