Kristin, Collin turned 6 on the 1st. Last year even though it was a battle, I kept him in preschool one more year. I didn't feel Collin was ready for kindergarten...maturity wise. Now we just redid Collin's IEP on 1/31 and we will reconviene in May to determine placement for next year. My personal oppinion is the extra year does them good!!! Collin has a sister that is 2 years younger than him so....I will have one in Kindergarten and one in 1st. Connie

Valerie, Valerie, Valerie!!! My kids have always done chores since they were old enough to walk...around 10 months. Now not much but they still had to work....throw diaper away, pick up toys etc... But, we have been struggling with chores here lately and I absolutely love your Stick IDEA!!! It is wonderful and I am going to go look for popcycle sticks today!!! Thanks, Connie

Allisa, Collin will be 6 in February too!!! I knew he was not ready for kindy at the end of last year too and refused to let him go on.....Even though the school was not happy with me. Collin had been with the same teacher for 3 years. We changed schools this year...whole new place and people. I can't tell you enough about how much that helped him. He has made huge leaps and bounds. The biggest place of improvement we have seen is in his speech!!! Completely amazing. I think this will be a good experience for her!!! Connie

Chelsae, Just a note from my own personal experience. Collin's thyroid is checked 2x a year at my request because it is normal for this hormone to flutuate. One time it will be normal the next it will be a tad bit elivated. Now don't take what I am going to say wrong because I am not meaning it to be mean or anything. But, NP like doctors are only human and they do make mistakes. I know my kids are not their doctors only patients so if he doesn't remember to have a test ordered I know it is my responsibilty to ask for it and follow up on it. I know my doctor would not have thought twice about saying something to me if the test result fell with in the normal limits even if it was up from the previous test (because it is still normal and it does flutuate). I wouldn't be to alarmed yet but I would call and ask that they run the test again just to be on the safe side.
Hugs, Connie
