Alice, you are so right. Did a lot of studies on Hitler in the past for school and I am a HUGE history buff. Hitler was able to talk people into anything. I am afraid of Obama. I hope people really look into who he is and what he stands for. I can tell you after 17 years in the medical field we really don't want socialized medicine.

I am very scared this election also! I beleive that we are having our rights taken away from us little by little. In my opinion, the less govornment has to do with my life, the better I am. I do feel that Obama is looking to turn our country into a socialistic society. When he says we need to spread the wealth around, I dont think he understands what this country was founded upon. We can do and be all we want to be if we work hard for it!! We are Americans! Is it right to take $ away from people who earned it and give it to someone who did not??? I dont think we should base our vote on Sarah Palin having a son with Ds. I think we should try to educate ourseives on the issues. Just my opinion!! Please no one hate me!!

I will vote for Obama. When Sarah Palin was nominated for VP I had a few days of weakness really wanting to vote for not only the first woman vp but for a woman that had a child with Down syndrome, but in my experience when Democrats are in office things are better for children with disabilities, things are better in the school districts and government is LESS involved in our individual rights. People can shove all the facts they want at me to prove "republican's care" but when for the last eight years there has been a mortoreum on nearly every program that helps children with special needs I'm ready for some of that change Obama talks about.

CC Come on, Alice isn't saying that Obama is like Hitler because he killed millions of Jews. If you read about Hitler he was brilliant in many ways. He was able to convince a nation to follow him into dictatorship, giving up many of their rights. You have to look at his political beliefs and his speeches. The times when he ran for presidency were also in economic turmoil and he took advantage of that appealing to the middle class, farmers, etc. I am comparing Obama to Hitler in the fact they were/are both gifted orators. Their speeches touch people in emotional ways and are talented in the ability to tell people what they want to hear. Not in the way you are thinking.

"I am comparing Obama to Hitler in the fact they were/are both gifted orators. Their speeches touch people in emotional ways and are talented in the ability to tell people what they want to hear. Not in the way you are thinking." Hmm OK, but first I have to say I Respectfully TOTALLY disagree with you that Obama is telling people what they want to hear and not what they are thinking. Honestly I think people have minds of their own and can figure things out and Obama in no way has any secret power over people to due what you suggest. Only reason I asked Alice is hey why not use John Kennedy, Martin Luther King or many other as examples of Great speakers?. Seem odd to me to pick Hitler Just my thoughts CC ~

Yep, CC, Obama is telling what ever people want to hear exactly what Hitler did when he wanted to be elected! I am from socialistic country and know how bad it could be. But wait - you will see it by yourself after elections, if Obama wins... So sorry, that great America will be like former Soviet Union with the democrats in the office... Radonna, glad to see you posting. We again have different opinions! ;D By the way, we have so many great things - benefits from the government for our disabled kids. Why we are complaining? If we want to live better - we should work harder. But with Obama in office - there will be no reason to work at all. Let's go directly on welfare and get everything from those who are working! ;D Renee, you are so right socialized medicine is the terrible thing. I had it in Russia. Oh, well... It is so easy to mess people's mind with good speeches...

Hmmm Alice let me say I could care less who you want to vote for BUT I do have a problem with misinformation.
If you know USA history/Political history... This nonsense was pulled way back with Barry Goldwater (sp?) saying Kennedy was a socialist (sp?). BG tried that Socialist stuff with Kennedy and it didn't work.
PLEASE, are you telling me McCain/Palin are not saying what they want you to hear??
Respectfully disagree with you on this.

Ah, politics can make for some spirited discussions.... But I love reading other's opinions, even if they are different than mine. Thats what makes this country great! I just hope I can continue having a "voice" after this election. If it goes the way its predicted, I think anyone who is a conservative will have a extremely hard time being heard. The funny thing is that most liberals preach "fairness...equal rights...acceptance for all EXCEPT those who don't agree with their policies. Very hypocritical. The "Fairness Doctrine" scares me...too much power to determine what is being said. And the media is a mess! I've never seen a more one-sided coverage of an election in my life! And I don't want George Soros, Hollywood stars, or network executives determining our next leader. These are very serious times for our country...Does either candidate have all the answers? I think not...but I happen to look to their "core"...what their values are. What kind of people they associate with, their love of country, respect for others, how they have voted while in office. And if they jive with my way of thinking, then they get my vote. I hope we can all get through all the hype and retoric and vote with our hearts. Speech over! (can you tell I come from a family of politicians?)

**Careful guys*** Also..... let's be honest... BOTH sides pander... and it's not JUST this election.... it's just part of politics.... but I am sure both sides both offer good real stuff too.... there isn't just one "perfect" candidate... realistically they are BOTH human so they are BOTH flawed It's up to each individual to pick which candidate works best for them and their views and such... So, let's try to not BASH just one party...... There is a line and some may have their toe itching to cross over it A.

The reason I am not voting on Obama is I don't believe in the basic ideology of the democratic party. I don't want Govt. interference. I don't want my taxes higher. The hardest time in my life was when Clinton was in office. We were 50 dollars a month from food stamps. I am amazed how people blame everything on President Bush. Look back before him on the choices made and signed into law. NAFTA is one of many.
I would never compare Obama to the great Martin Luther King or JFK. In my opinion he is nothing like either of them.
Alice, I can't imagine living in Russia when the USSR was in around. I would like to think the people of this country would never give up their rights. Speaking of Russia... Dolly, the "Fairness Doctrine" scares me too. In Russia they have freedom of speech in their constitution. However, the government there has ownership and pressures the media on censorship. They restrict sensitive issues, especially those in political parties that oppose the current political party.
We have an amazing country. I too love the fact that we have the right to speak openly about our opinion. My personal opinion is Obama scares me. Again, just my personal opinion.
Overall we give too much credit to our President. The reality is there is so much to fix in our country there needs to be a cut or halt in spending to get it under control. Then our children will get the money they need. There is 17.2 billion dollars being spent by our govt that we usually don't know about. How many services could that get our kids? You should check out Citizens Against Government Waste. They are non profit and non-partisan. This isn't a republican or democrat issue, we need to get this money situation under control.
I am not trying to offend anyone. As I said I love history and politics. I started my research of Hitler and the Holocaust in high school. I have been to Germany twice. I walked through Anne Franks house. I touched the Berlin Wall. I have been to the World Trade Center twice, spent time with many of the firemen who lived through 9/11. Watched my husband board a bus to go to Iraq and then return on a transport plane with part of his leg missing after dying twice. I have worked in the medical field in California, Texas and Virginia for 17 years. I have seen the cost of illegal immigration on the health care industry which is then passed on to the tax payers. My hope is that our citizens will really research what is on the line with this election. I don't care who people vote for as long as they do it because they educated themselves and NOT by just watching TV.

Renee, Thank you! You put my thoughts in words! I wish more people understand things like you do! CC, you know, McCain and Palin do tell things I do not like to hear. But I am looking at BIG picture of them. I like republicans' principals. They are truly Americans! I trust McCain and Palin! They are real people! I do not trust OBAMA - he is a professional liar! Please do not put him in one level with MLK and JFK! OBAMA DID NOT DO ANYTHING GOOD AT ALL TO THIS COUNTRY! He will do only harm if he wins elections... We'll see! Life will show us - who is right and who is wrong about the choice we do today! BTW, can you imaging that some day you will not be able to post here or any where your political views? Just think about that! P.S. ~ CC, I like the way you use my thoughts - in quotes! Thanks for respecting me! LOL... ;D
