Alice!! OMG Great to see you and I notice at the bottom you have a grandDAUGHTER!!!! WOW you finally have a girl!!!
My opinon on Palin after much research because believe me I WANTED to vote for her. Palin is a Pentecostal that defined herself as "as Pro-Life as a candidate can be." (but ironically she is a strong supporter of the death penalty) She is against same-sex marriage and supports an amendment to the constitution to ban it. She also supports a constitutional amendment to stop same-sex couples from getting state health benefits. As Mayor, she tried to get books with "inappropriate language" banned from the local library, and threatened the librarians job when he or she would not support her in her medieval crusade against freedom. She strongly supports teaching Creationism in schools. She even filed a lawsuit to get Polar Bears removed from the endangered species list. She opposes Stem Cell research. Voted against granting same-sex couples spousal benefits. Voted to abolish hate crimes legislation. Thinks morals should be taught in school. Supports allowing parents to opt their children out of school classes and/or material if they find it offensive. She is the ultimate right wing nut.
Sarah Palin; (discussing the troops going into Iraq) "Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God." - "I can do my job there in developing our natural resources and doing things like getting the roads paved and making sure our troopers have their cop cars and their uniforms and their guns, and making sure our public schools are funded," she added. "But really all of that stuff doesn't do any good if the people of Alaska's heart isn't right with God."
What about seperation of church and state? For many of you, you may read her veiws and be even more commited to voting for McCain Palin. I just wonder how people who claim to want "less government involvment" vote for more religiously motivated legislation and to force their version of morality on the minority of American's. How is the government LESS involved in that?

Hi Radonna, yes we have a granddaughter and she is a wonderful little girl. She is 14 months now. She walks and she speaks baby language. Very funny! We enjoy having her around! ;D You know, Radonna, I agree on most aspects with Sarah. BTW, Polar Bears are very dangerous for people in Alaska. People over there should defend themselves. Polar Bears eat people. I am big fan of Sarah Palin and John McCain. I love America! I admire John McCain, because he is a real hero! I am sorry, but Obama is just nothing and from nowhere. And his running mate OMG – is just plain idiot - Baden. He predicts the international crisis and Obama will be tested in that crisis… OMG! Doesn’t it scary?! Are they planning that crisis? Some women are for Obama because they think he looks sexy. ;D OK, forget about politics. ;D How are you? School? Kaden? All kids? How is life?

Radonna, I agree with all of Palin's views that you listed on your post. Her ideals are exactly what I would like to see in office. Chris

I am against abortion but stand 100% behind the death penalty. Separation of church and state means that you can't have a national religion. That is how our founding fathers wanted it. "Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church & State."

I am voting for Obama, too. McCain scares the hell out of me personally. But that is what is great about this country- we have a choice of who we want to vote for. Both parties are telling us what they think we want to hear btw. We seem to be either republican or democratic and set in our ways as such. Nancy

Radonna, Great to see you! I've thought of you and the kids many times!
Count me in as one of those who is as excited about voting McCain/Palin as ever...........and yes, in some ways it is because of what she stands for. I too consider myself to be "pro life" where abortion is concerned. Pro choice never made much sense to me...........it's pro choice for the mother but certainly not for the baby. And, I don't see the comparison to pro life (when speaking of an innocent baby who didn't ask to be created, and didn't ask to be "terminated") and pro life for a guilty convict whose death is punishment for his/her actions. Is the death penalty the only way to handle criminals? I don't necessarily think so. But, at the time they committed crimes, they had to know it was a possible option as punishment! They made a choice and have to deal with the punishment. I don't see that as similar to abortion. I know, I know we try very hard not to discuss issues like abortion here and I appreciate that. But for me, it's a huge piece of the candidate selection process. That's just one area of concern.
I do think we're doing a decent job of discussing this matter here, and it is interesting to hear everyone's opinions.
Susan

You know, I have purposely stayed out of all the political debates on line since alot gets lost in the written word and can get out of hand...but after reading the past few entries I just feel the need to say, I am not scared by either candidate, they each have something to offer, 1 more than the other in my own personal opinion. But I am so very happy that I live in a country that allows me to vote for my choice and hope that this NEVER changes. Regardless of who we all vote for, the most important thing is that we are allowed to vote...And I for one am very proud to be able to say "GOD BLESS AMERICA", and "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "ONE NATION UNDER GOD"

Jenn ... you are toooo funny, seriously.... I'm out there too waving a white flag, just not on the farm. lol....speaking of which I still want to go chase goats with Jelani and you and Brook and grandma! ;D I think the open space would be great for Jelani. I'm a bit scared too myself with this election. I'm scared for the safety of our country, and our presidents. Those are huge shoes to fill...and there are aspects on both sides I disagree with. And to "fix" our problems is a gradual thing...and this is when we need to all pray for guidence. I agree that it is a priveledge to be in a free society and be able to vote. But educating ourselves on each candidate and decifering fact from fiction is the important thing.

I love America too. I was also raised Pentecostal and believe me you don't want the finger of a pentecostal that close to the button that could end the world. They EXPECT the end time. PRAY for it and feel it is not escapable. I've heard I'm afraid of Obama I'm afraid of McCain I'll be honest I'm AFRAID of the mindset of Pentecostals.
I'm really suprised so many of you supported all of Palins views. I mean she believes if I don't want my child to hear about the Holocaust I can opt him out of the class for that subject. The homeschoolers that teach their children there were never any dinosaurs and that men has never been to the moon. That's OKAY.
She is against stricter punishments for hate crimes. How can anyone be against that??
She cut funding in Alaska that would help underage teenage mothers. Even though her daughter falls in that category. What makes anyone think that just because her child has Down syndrome that she's going to be that helpful for us. She's not been that helpful to unwed teen Mothers in her home state and she's familiar with that too.

Radonna... with all do respect my love.... if you are going to post that stuff, give us some facts (websites) to back it up..... Not necessarily needing it for ME, but just in general.... you should share where you are getting the facts.... And anyone else for that matter... If you want to throw around the facts in posts... let's see where you are getting your info...let's ALL be informed together... What I find kinda funny and an oxymoron is that you said she supports the death penalty and you have issue with that but that she isn't giving stiffer penalties to hate crimes and you have issue with that So where would that lead us all? We let the serial murderers live because all life is valuable but the hate crimers get.....what? What would that happy medium be? Just throwing that out there to get everyone thinking A.

I for one can NOT wait till November 5th and this election is over. Man oh Man this election is dividing this county more then it has been already and I do believe the McCain rallies are pushing the fear, hate. Honestly for what ever reason it seems Palin is the one really doing it more then anyone That part I will never get being she is a Mom of a beautiful little child that too will suffer from hatred from some sadly Again I don't care who any of you vote for but this pushing fear, hatred just has to stop. We are ALL True Americans, not just republicans which has been suggested way to much over this race Anywho, have any of you read this story, just sooo sooo sad. This is NOT what this should be about www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/24/mccain.sticker/index.htmlThe only reason I even posted this was NOT because this young gal is a McCain person BUT because she is a young person and look what kind of things are happening I for one am so glad this will be over in about a week, its been the longest president race I ever ever remember. CC ~
