Hi - Can't believe I never saw this thread! - Sorry to be so late in adding us to the list! ;D
Linda - Mom to Adam - we live in Westen New York
Adam doesn't qualify for Medicaide or SSI cuz our income level is too high BUT
The County/State gov. covered all his services (totally free) from birth to age 5. (ST/OT/PT/SpEd Teacher & Music Therapy)
After age 5 the services are covered (same as above -free again) through the local school district.

Here in Michigan it totally depends on the county you live in and how much money they have. We were lucky when Chase was a baby as everything was covered. Now he is older but he doesnt get as much... and Jackie's Justin gets horse back therapy and he lives a couple counties away, how not fair!!! But I am sooo glad for Justy!!! We also dont qualify for any SSI because of income which I think is STUPID because it shouldnt matter the income! The money is to improve things for the child. I could afford ALOT more of things Chase could use if he had SSI coming in every month huggers, Robin

Sorry Robin had to jump in here , Justins' horse therapy isn't covered under any of his insurances, the girl that runs it usually only takes terminal kids but once she heard Justin didn't qualify for any therapies she agreed to take him on also free of charge soooooo Miss Robin come on it's free and she said if I knew of anyone else to let them know so I'm letting you know and Laura already knows lol just waiting for Mr. Ethan to get a little bigger , she also lets the kids once they get riding well on their own go to horse shows with her and show their stuff, and she starts to show them how to take care of "their" horse like grooming, feeding and such and yes sometimes the ever most popular the treasure hunt lol ok so it's really not a treasure hunt but it sounds better ;D

Hi, Barb & Alison here in New York - buffalo/Niagara Falls area. Our income was too high for SSI & Medicaid. One caseworker actually suggested that I quite work just so that we would get them for Alison. When asked, she said no one else would be eligible though, just Alison . That would leave 4 of us with no insurance since I carry the family policy as it is just too darned expensive with my husband being self employed. . Fortunately she did qualify for another program here that is picking up all of her copays on our insurance. and Early Intervention covers all of the therapies after our ins. stops paying. Well, that's our little story Barb BTW: I'm feeling real proud of myself as I just now figured out how to add all those little smiley things!!!!! I am SO pathetic!!! LOL

Thanks Tricia. This was really cool....I cant believe I have no neighbors near Philadelphia, PA!! As for services, we only qualify for secondary medical assistance for Paige - no parental income considered - so the only benefit is that we have no copays for prescriptions or dr.s visits. Debbie
