Ok this something I would really like to go to. It would only be ME and that's it. Would anybody consider bunking with me. I may try to get a friend to go but she is a nurse and already takes a lot time off for her little girl with ds.

Luvmy3kids,
There is a Hilton one mile north of Crown Center, the location of the convention.
Hilton President Kansas City 1329 Baltimore Kansas City, MO 64105 816 221 9490
It is a downtown hotel. It is one mile directly north of the Westin Crown Center.
Are there any other affiliated hotels I should be searching?

I know there are other hotels affiliated so I will do a search on there to see which ones are the closest.

Hi there! I have not posted for a very long time, but I've been checking in periodically! I am interested in going to this; we live in Denver (area), so its relatively "close". But, I have never been to this before, and the link to the conference doesn't show a lot of details about what to actually expect. Can anyone tell me what the schedule 'typically' looks like? Morning and afternoon sessions? Evening sessions? All day? Cost? I cannot seem to find any of these details and I'm sure things are still coming together for the actual schedule of events, but it would help to know just a little more, so I can figure out if I could bring my kids (we do have some family in the area, but I don't know if they're up for that much babysitting!) Thanks!

Kristin, NDSC emailed me back saying more info was forthcoming on their website. So, they don't have much right now. I have never been to one but really wanted to go to last years. It's a Fri, Sat and Sunday kinda thing. I don't know how much specifically but to get a better price you have to be a NDSC member. Which...I don't know off hand how much that is either LOL... I need to do it myself!
How's THAT for a whole lotta help with nothing!? ;D

Oh... and Rajitha it shouldn't take you 5 hours at all... unless you stop alot ;D It should take you just about 4 hours or so.. maybe even less if you don't stop at all and drive fast! LOL Since we moved it will only take us about 3 1/2. Can't WAIT!

Thanks, A. That's more info. than I had before... re: the NDSC membership thing. That is one thing, besides booking a hotel, that I can do NOW! I sent an email to them too, and am now on the mailing list, so I guess I'll just wait and see! Thanks again!

No prob.. yes I am on the mailing list now too.. just waiting with ya! I did learn also that if both spouses plan to attend the conference, only ONE spouse needs to be a NDSC member and then you can get the NDSC family rate and both go to the conference. I thought we'd both have to pay the member dues but they told me only 1 needs to be a member! Saves ME some money because we both plan on attending the conference! A.

Just a thought here. I'm also a dues paying member of NDSC (already paid my $25!), BUT, if you have a local association that is an affiliate and they are not sending anyone else, hit them up for it! 1., they could pay your registration fees., 2., you could go as an affiliate and not have to pay a separate members due. Personal choice there because as a member you will get on mailing lists, etc. However, it's an option.
Our group is only an NDSS affiliate right now so I signed up as an NDSC member, but the association is still paying for our conference registration fees anyway. We agree to take questions that any members of our group would like to have answered, gather materials to bring back and share our learnings at our next gathering after the conference. Worked out quite nicely when we did that after attending the NDSS conference a couple of years ago.
Anyway - just wanted to throw out that suggestion there to any of you that have local Ds associations - that maybe they would be willing to help cover some of the registration fees.
