I am soooo excited to see how many people are going to try and make it to the conference. Here I was excited to get to meet Susan, Jackie and MB (and to see A. again), but there's going to be so many other people too. Should be fun - we just have to remember to actually make it to the seminars and not sit around and chat all day!! Jessie

We are going to drive no doubt. I dont know if Katie and Em will fly here and go with us or fly in and meet us there in KC but Emily likes the Indian Casinos in Okla along the road...LOL. Oh yes...for you Vegas types...KC also has really nice "boats"...LOL.

Jackie is laughing about the "boats." Riverboat gambling was finally approved in Kansas City about 15 years ago. A casino could only exist on a boat. The Mighty Mo was too shallow to support a huge casino boat, so the "boat" was buit next to the river and then a little channel was built so the river water would flow into this tiny little crevice and touch the building with river water.

I don't think NDSC has put out the game plan yet Debbie. You can go to their website and sign up to get an email when the time comes though... that is what I did.

Jackie,
I don't think the group is up to that idea of helping me go. They want a family to attend this time. I don't think Mom and Dad will want to drive me either. They are conservative with the gas these days. This is why I thought of maybe just buying a CD of one of the speakers. I can't really afford the trip anyway. That is okay. I don't expect the group to do this every year.

I'd like to know too. I am interesting in the speakers but mainly the subjects especially for the adults.
I guess I am not going. I really can't afford the trip anyway. Besides, I have to bring my Osteoporois medicine and it has to be refrigerated. I know, not a very good excuse! You guys are lucky!

As far as the lineup, you will know as much about that as I will by going to the NDSC website. I'm all about hospitality!

Went ahead and made our plane reservations today. With the price of gas going up, I figured that airline ticket prices would be going up, and they were, already up $40 a ticket over a couple of weeks ago, so I decided to bite the bullet and get our tickets. Plus, we live south of Myrtle Beach, and fly out of that airport, and sometimes during summer it is difficult to find a flight, 'cause everyone is coming to the beach. I changed our hotel reservations, we are going to arrive on Thursday, and then leave Monday morning. Both of my girls, and me for that matter, are really looking forward to the convention! Last year was our first one, we really had a great time. Mike can't go this year, so I called my mom to see if she would like to go, and she has decided to attend also. The girls are already deciding who gets to sleep with Nana on the first night!

I am still a member of the National Down syndrome Congress too. I continue to get their newsletters in the mail every once in a while. I think it is a quarterly, but I am not real sure. I just receive them a couple times a year.
