I am in the process of also planning a KC family reunion of sorts three weeks after the conference. Today I got this link from a tour person who is setting up a bus excursion of old family homes for us.......it's a bit pricey...but she raved about it...and its right down by where we will all be staying... It is Pierponts so ...FYI Maybe MB has been there... www.herefordhouse.com/ppmenud.htmJackie

When talking to a woman at NDSC yesterday she told me that they have requested more "shoulder" rooms in the block...that is rooms for either side of the conference dates because they have filled up so fast and apparently lots of people intend to "vacation" in KC. So better hurry......

Jackie,,
That's good to know!!!!
MB, I know you can't comment about specifics, but we are trying to make some plans. I booked a flight that gets me in at 1pm on Thursday, but can you give an idea of the days and times of pre-conference stuff? I might have to change my flight by a day, especially if the feeding one is on Thursday, cuz Robin needs to get to that one, and I need to hold her hand on the plane! LOL!

Ohhhhhhhhh GREAT question Laura!! I went to the preconference last year and I believe it was all day FRIDAY. I'm planning to arrive at the hotel around 2pm on Thursday.

Okay - I just booked my room, but I'm going to be going all by myself. I just booked for two nights - the 3rd and the 4th. I have never been to one of these before, but have always wanted to go. I'm really excited, but kinda nervous to be going all alone. Is there anyone else that will be there alone, because I'll need a buddy! Now to go book my flight...

Debbie, Emily and I will be traveling alone......does that count? We'll be staying in a room with Robin. I think all of the Uno Masers should get rooms nearby, so we can talk late at night! Susan

I also wanted to remind those that have never done a conference but are going to the NDSC one here, to make sure you sign up with NDSC and become a member ($25). That way you get the "membership" price for the conference and not the higher "nonmember" price.

OK...we need to find a way to all meet up ...even if its just for a sip of tea or glass of wine. I have tried in the past to meet up with people and you know...it's hard to do...the conferences are big. Maybe if we found some chili pepper stickers and put one on our name tags...that would help...or maybe have MB suggest a place when it gets closer since she will be familiar with the hotel.
On the teens plus site we are also exchanging our cell phone numbers.

Last year, MB arranged a mini Uno Mas get together..........although there were only a few of us there. It looks like this year is going to be much better!!
