LAMO!@that EMAIL
Larry has text'd me before:
"someone broke into the house and stole all the beer"
After 38 years undercover, downtown KC...if that man wants to have a beer during the game, he's well deserved it! I rarely drink it, but am fighting the "aging poorly" weight, so can't afford to!
Molly walked into the beer aisle at walmart, pointed at the Michelob and said "daddy", so i KNOW she notices with detail!
I imagine she'll be sharing one with her brothers, watching the cards beat the cubs, and HOPE that she waits till she's 21! (that'll be a first)
Funny thing that just happened today! My Shauna is in Virginia Beach at the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon...super cool race...simutaneously ran with soldiers in Iraq "Operation Rock N Roll" and also contributing to charities. A very big deal...and a forerunner to the Boston Run!
So it starts at 7am...and she ran a 1:50 on the half
And there was beer at the finish line!
BEER? AT 8AM??? among ATHLETES???
Yep...it has a great balance of carbs/calories/hydration...so the marathoners generally pop a cold one a few minutes after they catch their breath! Very Common to help in the recovery!
anyway...off topic, but i found that pretty interesting. I should have been there as a ticket to the marathon which had local bands playing all up and down the beach.....ends with a B-52's Concert tonight.
That girl knows how to party! We're all going to watch her in january do the Walt Disney full marathon...she's hoping to finish, and getting a 26.2 tattoo if she does!
I think champagne will be the order of the morning THAT morning though!
*cheers*

molly probably has that many, and every once in awhile they slip out, but im learing that she does what she has to do in speech to make her ST happy....but in NO WAY is she using them conversationally!
I heard her say "elephant" the other day....something was on TV...all 3 syllables as clear as a bell. That's the only time I've heard it.
and something else...no matter HOW hard we prod, she will NOT show us she can write her name. Then one day, we were signing in at school, and i told HER to do it...and there it was...M-O-L-L-Y! RIGHT on the line it was suppose to be on!
She has lost more words than she currently is using, and that always is a heart breaker for me...and it's ATTITUDE! Like she USED to say "ice cream" but now? It's like "I'm holding a cone and pointing at the freezer....DUH!" but she refuses to say it.
and STUBBORN? if we try to force it??? She'll throw down the cone and walk away.
I am grateful she still says and signs...."please and thank you"
OH OH OH she won't call me mom....although she has slipped up on that one, too, so i KNOW she is able...she continues to call me "EYE"

Their not the enemy, How can they be so cruel? My perfect little soldier will turn around and smack them right in the kisser!!
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
great work, but the biggest gripe i have with "that word" is the fact that if it were any OTHER demoralizing word, that segregated and pointed toward any OTHER group of people.
those people would stand up for themselves.
people are not only getting a little smarter (less ignorant) but really....they know there are some words that if used in public could get them HURT!
I guess that makes the die-hards bullies...picking on people who won't punch them out.
the people they pick on?? HAVE MOMS!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

i saw an add on television...verizon i think, where the parent can monitor usage, and set usage as they want!
after raising two typical sons...ONE $400 bill (5000 text messages) and having one cell phone lost (i found it in 37 pieces on the road in front of the sonic) all i can tell you is...the insurance is a waste of money, and shop ebay for replacements. HA!

my son's friends went...he did not *beam* he is 23 in college..and works in a bar ....so he was the target audience.
the friends came to report..that the worst scene was SO bad that no one in the theater laughed....and that they could have cut the entire scene and not hurt the rest of the movie any!
pretty astute from young men...
i hope it bombs....and wish horrible things on those that defended making it...
it really hurt my feelings...not just the movie, but the public in general...still, after all that has happened....not quite getting it.
*sigh*
oh ps....hpybday!

the All About Me packet is an awesome idea...i put one together every year for molly. The other thing i do.....is make a letter and send it to school, to disperse to molly's classmates on that first day of paperwork.
We explain in kid language about down syndrome, and about Molly...her good points, and her bad points. We write things about her that the kids need to know...and give information to the parents.
Last year...i had parents i didn't know approach and thank me for the letter...MANY MANY TIMES!
they WANT to know...they are EMBARRASSED to ask!
and with each thank you...i got a question, cuz that is the last statement on the page...
just how much we love molly...and how they need to be comfortable in coming and asking us if they have any questions at all...I could talk all day about her!
just a thought....works well for us
Molly will be in the 2nd grade, they put her and BOBERT!! in the same class (her boyfriend) her teacher loves our kids...AND (this is the hard part) went to school with SHAUNA!! EEK!! ...so we know each other REALLY WELL!
and WE CAN'T WAIT FOR SCHOOL TO START!!
