I will pray it is nothing serious. We had similiar and very scary incident about 1.5 years ago with Daniel. One day we were running late. I scooped Daniel up, got him dressed and rushed to the car. When we arrived at daycare and I put him down to walk....he just went limp and sat. He held his arms up for me as to pick him up. At first, I thought he was just being lazy and wanting me to stay longer. But quickly I learned he was in pain and couldn't walk. Seemed it was all in his hips...because as long as he was sitting...he was ok. But this was a very active toddler who never sat.
I frantically called my husband and rushed him to the emergency room where I thought for sure I would hear the dreaded "L" word. I fear that word so much, I was certain....and some doctors were too. He also is prone to petechaie so we've had plenty of visits to the ped with a request for bloodwork
However, after negative test after negative test......we had our answer. Toxic Syntivitis. An inflamation of the joint in the hip. They confrimed via ultrasound. They gave him motrin and within the hour he was running around.
So, please keep the faith it is nothing major....and we will pray for your Colin.

A typical day for us starts at about 7am when the kids get up. Daniel goes potty..then off to watch Spongebob while he eats breakfast. The kids get face washed, teeth brushed, hair combed, dressed and busses pick them both up by 8:30. Daniel attends an integrated preschool 5 days a week for 1/2 days. On Mon,Tues and Wed..he also goes to daycare till around 4pm. On Thurs and Fri he comes straight home after school (my husband works from home on those days). He gets ST and OT 1 hour each week. No more PT at all. I'll try to get a video of him talking recently. He speaks 2-3 word sentences. He has a long way to go with speech...but he can talk clearly enough to get his needs and wants known. So after school and when I get home from work, we eat dinner, do homework..run errands...play Wii, snuggle ALOT

I will certainly pray. I have a close friend diagnosed with stage 4 back in 2005. She is doing very very well today. She is from the Boston area but her parents are from Ireland. I'll put you in touch if you like. Are you on facebook?

Hello everyone, I should have posted this earlier. I concentrated on facebook and blogs...but I should have come here earlier. As some of you may know...I'm in love with an angel on Reeces Rainbow named Zhora. He is the IDENTICAL twin of my son Daniel. We unfortunately are not in a position to adopt him....but I have vowed to raise as much money and awareness as I could for him. I teamed up with a friend of mine Bethany (who has a biological child with Ds and also adopted through RR from Russia). She has a huge blog following so she offered to host and spread the word. I purchased an Ipod Touch and another mom generously offered to donate a gorgeous handmade quiilt she made!! Please see the link below with all the details. Just a $10 donation gets you a chance to win the new Ipod or Quilt. Every $10 gets you a ticket ($50 gets you 5 entires etc). Please consider helping this angel for Christmas!!!! My Daniel and I are praying hard for this little guy!! thebalsisfamily.blogspot.com/2009/12/12-days-of-giving-day-seven.html
