Jackie ~ I am just wondering, and I really really hope this is OK to ask I know its typical for ones over 21 to have a drink now and then and yes I too have a drink now and then BUT being ones with DS do have cognitive delays even ones that are "high functioning" what is the benefit from drinking alcohol? Even if only one or two?? Honestly I am truly trying very hard to understand? I see it as empty calories and potential for trouble down the road... I really am just trying to see what the benefit is ?? I know I know we ALL want/hope our kids are more typical then not BUT I just don't get why say sharing a soda or tea with her Sis wouldn't do the same thing?? PLEASE know this is in NOOOO way an attack just truly trying to understand? You have posted many times over the years of Em's drinking a few brews now and then... I know you are LOVED here and I am probably MUD here for even ?'ing BUT I am just wondering what is the good part of it all... Chris is only 15, so maybe I am just missing it CC ~

I watched it live today as it was announced and for me it makes me angry that McCain would think he could get the votes of Hillary just by picking a woman. Hmmm like we woman don't have brains and only vote for woman weather they are the best or not Funny thing is I asked Kodi Lee who is 19 what she thought of this pick of McCain's and her words "she is being used to win no other reason" Hmmm could be possible Anywho while I work I have the news stations on and YIKES have any of you heard how the DS has been spoken of today on all the news shows?? Just wondering cause any that are for PC would have been offended, least from what I have heard so far. Certainly proved to me that the main stream media just has no idea bout DS. K, I didn't and wouldn't have brought this subject up here BUT it was so just sharing my thoughts I agree no matter what HISTORY will be made and I for one am very glad to be part of it ;D CC ~

Hey Cindy girl so good to see you posting ;D Just wondering does Emma have a cell phone?? Cause if she does I would suggest getting Kaylee the same kind. Kodi Lee at this time has a verizon cause most her pals have verizon and they offer free calls to all other verizon users. Not sure if text messaging is something Kaylee would be into BUT OMG a must around here LOL As for the ground rules, I would go with the same rules you have for Emma, if she has a cell too. How the heck have you all been, update needed CC ~

Chris had orthotics before he was walking for a bit and now has just the arch (sp?) insert for flat feet. We have always used New Balance for both and they worked GREAT. He needs a shoe with very wide toe area and support at the same time.
The ones he has used I will be honest are not cheap but they work GREAT and last.
I have tried ones from Payless stores, I think thats the name but honestly I have never been able to get a pair that work as well as the New Balance do for him.

Jackie ~ I absolutely LOVED the link you posted and personally I would rather see that running on the news shows that I have seen on this subject. Please let me explain I am with you guys, I do not believe the "R" word should ever be used to describe anyone. Just as its hurtful to some to call them ugly, fat, stupid... The list goes on sadly of hurtful words used on a daily basis I only asked if it bugged you before having one with DS just out of true wondering. For me yes I can say back when I was young I heard the "R" word used by many kids. Honestly even though it was not a word I myself used it really never bothered me one way or another. Once Chris was born YUP I can honestly say it bugs me. With all that being said I also agree bout advocating for our kids or anyone with a disability that is unable to advocate for them self. But with that being said I was told by a person I know here in my area that I "should be ashamed for NOT participating in the public uproar over this" Hmmm I just don't agree I am bad because I am not out condemning this flick. I advocate for my guy all the time and have for the last 15 years and will continue to do so in my way as long as I breathe air. To me the movie is sadly already out there, will I see it no, will I be angry at one if they chose to, honestly no. Seeing the link Jackie posted, now that is he kind of thing I would love to see on TV, played before movies such as this at a theater that is playing such a flick, KWIM I happen to enjoy Ben Stiller (sp?) but will not be seeing this one of his. Will I see any of his future flicks Yes I will in all honesty. I in no way have the answer how to get the use of the "R" from ever being used Just my humble opinion but handling it in a nice manner seems the way to go. Anywho, just wanted to clarify in case anyone wasn't sure, I am not for anyone using the "R" word or many other words actually that are used daily, but I just don't get so riled up as some. What I hope comes from this is more and more public advertising such as the link Jackie posted. I really think that would get more meaning out to the public, then seeing some parents protesting. CC ~
