hey, everyone , we have a lock on our bedroom door that my wife can lock from the outside so that when she leaves for work at six am victoria doesnt follow her out the door, which she did last year, well i guess we should of never let victoria watch prisonbreak, so this morning victoria gets up and climbs in bed with us, tucks me and mom in crawls in between us (to lull us into a false sense of security) and when she makes sure that mom and dad are zonked, she quietly leaves, but get this, as part of her master plan she locks mom and dad in their own room,
when i finally got up to get ready for work i walked to the door and its secured, i immediatly realize what is going on, and i start screaming for a bed check, alarms flashing , the baying of hounds, all the other prisoners are throwing toilet paper and lighting their mattresses on fire,,,,,,,,,, wait,,,,,,,,,,, now im the one watching too much prisonbreak
as we rouse the kids and start our search pattern across the neigborhood alerting our neigbors as to our percieved ineptitude as parents, my wife finally finds her a block and half away , my wife pulls into the driveway just as the cops arrive, new cop, doesnt say much , doesnt know the history of the lil escape artist nor the fact that the last two cops turned us over to child protection, still expecting a visit any time now, at least this one didnt suggest that we keep victoria in a harness with a leash...........................

my wife use to drive across town to get the three cent discount from her favorite gas station, adding twenty to thirty minutes to our commute home from work, i dont know about you guys but after work i just want to go home, i dont want to be driving across town , and being a typical husband i wasnt afraid of letting my wife know how i felt about it, but it was hard to refute her logic after all we were gaining three whole cents a gallon,,, finally one day in exasperation i figured it out, we were saving about forty, fifty cents so here we go on our trek across town and i told her to just get gas next to our work (i failed to mention the closest gas station was about fifty yards from our work) she argued of course , but i was ready this time, i pulled out fifty cents and asked her to figure out her savings, which she did, at which time i pulled out fifty cents and handed it to her, i then directed her to the nearest gas station. the point to ponder is ..... how much are you willing to pay to save money........

the dreaded night exursions, victoria is seven still sleeps with us otherwise she tries to go explore the neigborhood in the wee hours of the morning,
i have seen a device called guardian angel, actually they have a few different devices, for home and when u are out and about,
having victoria sleep with us is a two edged sword, yeah shes safe and tends not to get up in the middle of the night, and i sleep a little more secure, not with one eye open, though i still do that, but in certainly has put a crimp on beth and my alone time , if you know what i mean, especially since victoria tends to turn sideways in between us and push both of us out of bed, or the fact that she sleeps in the sitting position folded over her own legs her face on her knees or the best part when u suddenly feel a very wet warm feeling and its not a fuzzy teddy bear, a friend of mine has a son with autism, he was a notorious night walker, and were frequently turned over to child protection, he got in trouble for nailing all the windows shut, ect.. they told him to get a prescription for the doctor for a motion detector alarm and their medical card paid for it. they got the alarm from the health and welfare department btw the local police have been very helpful the first time victoria got away and we had to call the police, the chief of police told my wife in a no nonsense matter of fact way that she better not let this happen again, the other officer suggested that we use a harness to tie her in the house, the next time victoria left the house was five a.m. went to the local nursing home to use the bathroom , chief of police called me on that one and the grand finale victoria was at the high school involved in a kindergarten cheerleading camp, she escaped from the cheerleading coach , from the high school mind you, we got turned over to the child protection, they came and inspected my house ect ect,, interviewed my older children, and called me at work , very nice man but i had to ask him if his next stop was to the high school to inspect their facilities and interview their staff,, he was mystified of course and wanted to know wy he should do that, he was quite exasperated when i told him the victoria was in the care of a school official under the direct supervision of a school staffer, his only comment was "oh , the police didnt tell me that" kudos to the police for the job they do, but remember they arent trained to deal with our kids. as kids or as adults, they usually dont have a clue, they tend to assume that you lack parenting skills at the least and are a unfit and neglectful parent at the worst, i mean really having an officer suggest that we tie our children up with rope and harnesses is beyond ignorance and deeply penetrates the realm of stupidity,,,

well. the cops were at our house monday, it seems that our home town has some obscure ordinance or law that makes it against the law for teen age boys to urinate from the second story bedroom window onto the neigbors house............ who knew,,,,,,,,,, i guess my son and his friends didnt,,,,,,,,

and i have to roll my eyes at a statement that rude children are made by parents beating them, rude children, like kids with d.s., come from all kinds of parents, from every social group, and you would have to quantify what exactly beating the crap out of them means,
