Christopher has true OCD and is on meds for it. When the meds work they work GREAT but then they stop and we have to play around with the meds again to find the right one and right amount. I do believe OCD tendencies is very common in ones with DS, although Chris has the dual DX of DS and Autism (sp?) so maybe its more common with that Unless it gets in the way of life, learning, etc. I think you are fine, just my thoughts CC~

Wish I had better news but tomorrow will be 2 weeks exactly and at the most he can hold his head up for short times that add up to about 2 hours total if that The Blood Patch did not work and if you ask me was the fault of the ER but I will tell you about that another time They have him on some meds that honestly I am not sure are helping but I haven't given up on and hope that they will. After all this Chris still has back pain and they have no idea why. His creatinine has been elevated slightly for the last few years and recently went up a bit and they have no idea why that is either. They want to do a kidney biopsy and Colin and I refused. We are ABSOLUTELY NOT letting anyone poke anything more in our son. If the creatinine numbers go up to high then yes we would have to look into it further as I am told any kidney damage can not be repaired. BUT right now enough is enough and I just need to get him well from this last procedure. THANKS for the prayers and thoughts, Chris really can use them. CC ~

Back to the ER today and they did the blood patch, all I can say is OMG was so gruesome (sp?) the whole ordeal Chris is very very drugged up and sleeping right now and we won't really know till morning I guess if it was successful or not. Please Pray it was successful, Chris has been through hell this week and I need all this craziness to stop and just have my character back to his regular self. CC ~

from the ER since 12 noon today. Chris is having severe headaches and not able to keep anything in him. He was treated for dehydration (sp?) and given two shots one for the stomach and one for the pain in his head. They let him come home tonight as he perked up at the hospital BUT he may have to go back and be admitted if this continues :-(
They have a concern that from the mylegram he may have leaking spinal fluid and may need to have a procedure called a Blood Patch. I called the Surgeon tonight when we got home to tell him what was happening. The Surgeon is in NY City and we took Chris to our local ER. Anywho he said if Chris continues to be bad again tomorrow I am to bring him back to the ER and have him admitted.
Right now Chris is sound asleep, thank God. Man oh Man these last few days have totally SUCKED for him.
NO way to spend ones Birthday thats for sure BUT we plan on celebrating his B Day BIG time in about a month at DISNEY ;D
If you have a moment PLEASE send a positive thought for my Character that tomorrow is the beginning of being BETTER.
Thanks

THANKS Laura ~ I updated on Facebook but Oops forgot to here. Chris had the Mylegram (sp?) on Thursday and THANK God he does NOT have a tethered spinal cord. They took a sample of his spinal fluid but I will have to wait for results for that. I am sure all is well with that, not even sure why they did that. Anywho sadly he is getting the bad headache affects from this test and has to lay flat in order to feel better. The Doc was hoping he wouldn't get them as they can last up to a week or so I have no idea why this happens but they tell me its pretty common after this test. BUT OMG so nasty, my heart breaks for Chris seeing him so miserable I am not sure what is next, well they do want to do a kidney biopsy BUT Colin and I are holding off on that for now. They want to do it due to his Creatinine has been elevated and recently has gone up a bit more and they have no idea why this is happening. They have done all the tests and yet we still have no answers as to why he has so much back pain and why the creatinine is creeping up I think its time we call Dr. "House" he can fix anybody ~ Man I only wish CC ~
