Some will never understand fully - forever innocent. That's no bar to Heaven. Still, the amount of stuff you have to understand for Salvation is not much and the faith required for believing what you've learned is given by God. IMO, kids who are forever more childlike than the rest of us have faith in bucketloads.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." Eph 2:8-9 Even if the work of understanding is never accomplished, nor the work of accepting the sacriment of the eucharist, God is gracious and just and merciful.

They didn't refuse him, they said he wasn't ready for the classes yet. They want for him to get the most he can out of the classes - they don't want to cheat him out of real understanding by pushing him through just because his classmates are going. This isn't public education we're talking about here - it's religious education. There is no time table for when it must be done, and therefore leniency for those who won't really grasp the lesson. The priests have not denied him; they've delayed him in hopes of giving him a better understanding of the faith.

Thanks, Renee. That isn't something I'd have considered, but it sure does make sense. We'll keep a good eye on Stevie's bite. For now, her bite is great, but you never know how things will change as they grow - and man, is she growing!

Don't antibiotics trash the flora and fauna in the intestine? I never understand why doctors prescribe oral antibiotics to people with gut issues. I may be missing something here, but it sure seems counter-intuitive. If you're interested in a very different approach to Crohns, have a look at this: www.marksdailyapple.com/forum/thread8144.htmlThere are loads of articles on the recent research of the effects of a low-carb diet on Crohn's. Here's one: www.second-opinions.co.uk/crohns.htmlI'm just thinkin' that if the course you're taking isn't working, maybe it's time for a second opinion and finding a new direction.

Bring her one gift to open right away - a new traveling shirt! She'll have to change in the airport bathroom, so you'll want to make it something she'll love - maybe peace signs

small caves ... hmmmm ... it was in the "art section" with erasers and miy cards, so that's a clue, isn't it? I mean, she couldn't mean "small cavies" - like guinea pigs or something? I has to have something to do with art. Canvases? I'm wondering about the "sacey movies" and the "flip toys" But you prolly know just what she means by those Susan, it sounds like Emily's new school is doing her great good
