Jackie,
Thank you for sharing that. In some weird way, it makes me feel proud that a mother of a child like Emily could even have a second thought that a more special ed environment may have had its benefits. You might find it surprising that there are lots of parents out here that are in some ways made to feel like we are doing a disservice to our child by not having them in an inclusive setting. I personally have no doubts that Jason is in the correct setting for him, but there are moments that I feel like I have to explain or validate our decision to other people.
With that being said, you shouldn't beat yourself up or look back. You and Ed have raised a wonderful person that you have every right to be proud of.
You had said before that you discovered your talent and love of art later in life. Look at Emily's current situation the same way. She just happened to have found something that fits her perfectly - and she's only in her mid-20's!

Awww, that's so great!! She looks so happy, Susan. I can see why you are so proud of her. And, proud of YOU too for just dropping her off and letting her do her own thing to get ready!

I'll be thinking of you guys today. Is Chris going to be there when Goldie is put down? We took Jason with us when it was time for Toby. We knew that would be the only way he would understand that he was gone and not coming back. It just sucks and I feel your pain.
Big HUG.

Not sure how the photographer actually got them to pose like this, but she did! Funny, I kind of obsessed about Ellie's dress . . . however, this picture I chose to get in black and white - and the other pictures were from her shrug up, so the dress isn't even in the pics! It's a very pretty pink dress. Jessie

Happy (belated) Easter!! Jason doesn't like candy either (one sure-fire way of confirming he wasn't expelled from my loins! LOL). He usually gets the bag of chips as well - oh he does like gummy worms. He got 2 new movies and a kite, with some candy in his basket that I knew he wouldn't care about (the candy that is).
We had our Easter dinner at a township hall yesterday so that we could have all of our in-laws at one dinner. It worked out great actually. No one person had to do the entire meal.
My sister was the Easter bunny. OMG, she's such a trip. Ellie was scared to death of her. Missy had the whole bunny outfit on and painted her face white, had the fake bunny nose and teeth, it was very good. However, she skipped one detail which was not wearing bunny glasses or sunglasses. After the party I asked Ellie why she was scared of the Easter bunny, she said, "Because it had eyes like mommy and daddy". Guess she didn't expect the Easter bunny to be part human - LOL!!!!!!
